i have a dt125r 1995 it was fine the powervalve was open fully and was coming in at about 6000rpm whitch i was happy with now ive fitted a fresco front pipe and the powervalve comes in at 7500rpm whitch is far to late and when i get into 6th gear the bike dies and slows right down. can any body help
Sounds just like my bike......which has a big one pipe on it.
I think it is just the nature of the pipe tbh, moves the power higher up the revs and loses low-mid power.
Has your fresco pipe got rid of the twisty part of the stock pipe just as it comes off the head? Just comes straight out and into the expansion chamber?
fresco is the same as the bigone pipe, i have both, one as a spare and they are the same. I think your problem is more to do with how the pipes setup there is away around it and thats locking the powervavle open all the time instead of having the servo do it when it feels like it
i put my old pipe back on and its much better than the fresco pipe gives it loads more mid power.and my power valve comes in at 5500rpm witch is much better i think i would get one if i was you. when i fit my electric power valve do you think it will be much better it says it will on the dt125r site that it will ? (thanks for the replies to my questions)
ive got a servo waiting to go on but waiting till i got it running right as it hasnt run for 3 years, it should give the bike more power through the rev range but no more than if it were derestricted i think

If you dont push the boandaries, tou will never know where they trully are
The big one moves all the power to the top of the revs from 8000rpm to past 12000rpm it is pretty quick, but it is useless below 8000rpm even with a powervalve servo.
Like craig said you put it in 6th and if you just drop the revs a bit you have to keep changing down gears to get it going.
i just got 2002 dtr i dont feel a band on mine and it only does 65mph thats with the snorkel of and the restricter in the speedo out.was thinkin of a dep but now thinkin to get my standard pipe derestricted.whats best to do???? as i need more power...starting to wish i got an older model
Done a bit of green laning but not much, have to say when i took it out today up one of the lanes it felt so much nicer to ride with the standard pipe and servo on it.
