That was last summer when it was all shinnie and new :), then i stripped it for offroad and have recently went full circle and put it all back together for the road. Just done my CBT 3 weeks ago and plan on getting a new can and derestricting for more horses.
First time on my bike, this was up at Griffin forest in Scotland helping people set out one of the legs of the Scottish enduro.
My bro showing of by passing me on his KTM 200, those pics were the first time i was ever on my DT and my 2nd time on a bike.
Yeah I know what you mean the blue DT's in my opinion do look the best. Although I would rather have a de-restricted 01 bike because 63mp top speed is getting annoying :).
Good luck in building your DT man there are tones of cheap parts of Ebay thats where I get most of my parts for the bike from.
Hey dude, seen you replaced the standard exhaust with an after market "standard" exhaust...not planning on buying one myself (i dont get along with the shape of the thing) but out of curiousty how does it perform, like is it restricted in anyway? If not it would make a cheap alternative for a couple of friends to avoid cutting open exhausts. Cheers for any info :)
Emm don't really understand some of that mate :), the exhaust is an after market sports exhaust and has no restrictor's in it unlike the standard front pipe. It made a bit of difference the bike now pulls through the gears better but my top end is still the same (PV CDI restrictors causing this).
It cost me 100 quid new from Ebay so if your mates can find someone to cut the standard exhausts in half, take out the internals and then weld it back together cheap I would do that. Allot of ppl on here and other boards have said that the standard exhaust de-restricted is going to give you the best power gains and its allot stronger than all the after market exhausts.
Ah cool cool, I was under the impression that the aftermarket one, like yours, was a restricted replacement for the original restricted one. Cheers for the info though :)
The bike is rusting away to **** in these conditions first good weather and ill need to strip some of it and give it a good clean and oil, plus buy a new stand since mine broke last week :(.
Aye its up at Griffin forest but its up north somewhere and would take forever to get there on the bike, the only places close to me are Dungavel forest and the wind farm which is just outside of East Kilbride.
Went up there a while ago with my brother and took some pics.
Thats my brother at the bottom of one just to give you an idea of how fuking big they are.
I was up there a few months ago on the bike and those roads are a mare, mind you that was when my back tyre was bald and didn't really grip at all. Plus when I stood up the chain would come of the sprocket and I would go no where :(, I need a new chain and sprocket.
I got chased after buzzing about for 30 mins some old **** in a van stopped me and told me not to come back lol, I told the old prick there are no sighns at the entrance saying no public allowed beyond this point. There still putting windmills up its going to be one of the biggest in Europe whens it done, like over 130 of them.
Not really mate the bike pulls harder through the gears and sounds better but the CDI unit is still restricted and because of that the bike only does 63 mph max.
hi mate that cant be right my dtr 125 is an 52 plate and thats not got a restricted cdi ive changed my gearing exhaust jetted it took the snorkal off the airbox and put carbon reeds in it and played with the poweralve n i get about 88 flat out bcz it goes off the clock so i got my dadto clock me on his drz
Yeah I know I have still to pin the PV open, ive not really been using recently so I just haven't bothered. It is a pain because when im going up some hills the bike only does 45 and that's with me dropping down a gear or 2 but its been like this since I bought it and ive tried fixing it but nothing has helped so far.
BTW Luvely DRZ I want one when i pass my test either that or a CCM 404.
