YPVS Clockwise or Anticlockwise?

Hi Guys - I've a 1992 DTR and just acquired the 3-wire Powervalve servo. I've read the instructions to fit this on the DTR125.net site and watched the video. Looking at the Power Valve pulley on the LHS of the barrel the instructions suggest that at low revs the pulley should turn 80 deg anti-clockwise whereas on the video it clearly turns clockwise? Can anyone please clarify what direction the pulley should turn from fully open to the closed position on start-up or low revs? Cheers!

when u turn on the ignation the 2 holes should be in line with each other.when the bike is started it turn colckwise about 2or 3 o,clock postion, when u rev the bike to about 7/8,000 rpm it opens and turn back to the hole alainment.so basicly when ignation on its open when you start the bike it shuts until you hit around 8,000 revs  hope this helps

Got it all fitted. For the pulley to turn clockwise to close the valve at low revs I didn't have to cross the cables from the servo to the pulley. Operation is now the same as the video clip on dtr125.net

Well its fitted but although the servo turns the valve when the ignition is turned on it doesn't seem to operate at 8000'ish revs so am checking the wiring although I would assume if the servo turns with ignition on then everything is wired up correctly. If anyone has any ideas then they would be greatly appreciated!!

powervalve makes the bike slower.
At 8k rpm you should see the valve being at the "open" possition alligned with the hole

yes myself and darkangel have tried disconnecting the servo and my results were with the servo my bike does not rev past 8,000 revs but when disconnected it reved into the red,but my bike did splutter abit on low revs for some reason, maybe because i did not pig it open i just took the cables out..

he has a point, there isn't that much hp difference between the mx and the dt 5hp or so.

You could get better results from having your top end tuned and ported, depends on what you want really, the mx is a nice looking bike.
