,as im no expert its all a little over my head but its something about re programming the cdi`s and servos and stuff to do with electronic restrictions ?
It allows you to advance or retard ignition timing and alter rev limits.Advancing the ignition can be used when running high quality fuels etc. Retarding is commonly used during nitrous applications.They will also be programmable to suit different ohms coils.They could in theory make a derestricted cdi for a dt but at a price.Probably more than getting hold of a yamaha derestricted cdi
