Ive really really need a new chain and sprocket set infact it should have been changed at least 8 months ago , god only knows how I passed my MOT a few months ago. Anyway I don't have allot of money and was wondering what set to get on Ebay there are loads that are all pretty much the same price.
Im just really wanting to know if theres any I should stay away from or if there all the same. I still havent gotten the bike fixed infact I havent looked at it in a while so I don't know why im looking at new chains.
i dont buy chain and sprockets in kits cos usually you will get a decent chain and **** sprockets or vice versa
i would start with the chain and go for something either with a good name, renthal, did ect or i can recommend this one i have fitted this to my bike it cost 20.98 and its gold and a nice quality
have you got a bike repair place/shop near you? rear sprockets should only cost a tenner and around a fiver for the front add that to the 20 for the chain and it works out cheaper than some of the other options
although e bay is good dont always be fooled into thinking its always the cheapest sometimes a local bike shop is just as or even cheaper cos you save on postage
if your really skint i can check out my spare sprocket tomorrow and if its any good you can have it m8
Thank you mate my local Yamaha dealer are known to be rip off merchants, I have spoke to the staff and even they say its a rip off. Ill give them a phone tomorrow and see what they say, it was gonna coast 160 quid for a basic service and the guy couldn't even tell me what that included.
I might take you up on that sprocket mate im on the dole right now thanx for the offer.
yeh m8 a yamaha dealer will rip you off weve got loads of little bike shops round here some do repairs and some just sell spares, the only reason i buy stuff online is because i sell alot of gear on e bay so most of the time my spare cash sits in paypal so its easy but not always the cheapest plus i dont have to go out in the cold lol
i will check that sprocket out tomorrow m8 i honestly cant remember what condition its in so will have to see, failing that if youve got no spares shops by you i can get a price from one round ere and post it to you
put it this way if a rear sprocket for my gsxr costs less than a tenner then i recon a dtr one should
