You will need to add something to the paint like plastoflex to try and make it bend with the panels.

Years ago when I worked at Dream Machine I painted my DT-R panels but after 6 months it was all flaking off = not worth the hassle.

If you want different colour panels buy some new ones / get a graphics kit.

I think it depends  wink , spraying will never look or last as long as new panels . But it can work if you're on a budget . I sprayed a bit with metal paint ( was just for mock up so didnt need a good finish ) . Didnt bother sanding or anything , just a quick wash . I'm sure after time it'll look **** but 1 month so far and it's still mint . Cant even scratch it and trust me ive tried .

Joke is  all the other bits i sprayed with special plastic paint and laquer are easily scratchable . Fading badly and will need to be redone soon and the bikes not even moved hmm No idea go figure , respraying every few months is more hassle but cheap .
