im not sure about sizes but you can go as wide as your swing arm is well just under lol aslong as your rim will be able to take it measure your swing arm but rember you need to get it in there so check for clearence's

Sorry dude, but it doesn't work like that. If you fit too wide a tyre, or in other words a tyre not designed to fit on your rim, it won't seat properly against the bead and will blow off the rim when under pressure. Also, the profile will change significantly from designed and could/will have a fairly advserse effect on handling. There's more to it than simply "clearance".

Not sure if this is what you're looking for but Michelin Ac10's are pretty much a road legal MX tyre:

Click

They won't last that long OTR though

What type of trail tyre are you after gooner mate? As long as you buy an 18" rear tyre and 21" front tyre you'll be ok, as said the DT has a wide swing arm and you should be ok with most sizes.

4.00X18 is the largest i know of. standard is the 4.10X18. I was looing at the MT43 on the rear.. My m8 alan has one on his DTR.. says it brill. He also said it slightly gears up the bike as the profile is higher.
