My new dt....woop woop

biggrinI'm so happy got myself a dt-x after a mad frustrating wait to ring the garage up over the bank holiday (hu i know how dare they have time off from work) weekend anyway rang up first thing Tuesday morning, short end to a long story, they held onto the bike untill i managed to rouse my biatch , i was like, Yo woman you better get your ass up and drive me to the garage and **** !, well it didn't really go down like that but i finally got there and bought the bike woop woop, just have to wait now for them to put a new mot on the bike and a new rear tyre...
Anyway the guy in the shop told me that the garage dude machanic would look over the bike and check it all out like oil levels etc etc plus the mot, but what i want to know is is it worth getting a full service on the bike from a Yamaha dealer and how much would it cost, the bikes done 7000 miles which warents a full service according to the manual.
Another question ? whats the recomended 2 stroke oil for these bike's and any idears where to get it from, thinking money saving tips would be good, and i dont mean with your back to the camera reach up to the top shelf to check the date of the milk and with your left hand and with your right hand slip that yorky bar down your pants.....disbelief

73mph is about right.. Had nearly 80 outta mine and that was with a restricted front pipe.. Derestricted pipe dont add any top end.. Just gives you more power.. You can get a DT off the clocks but only down a long hill..

Yeah I got my bike, back in September, I must admit its just been sitting in my garage since the weather changed, damb its cold on a bike in the winter smile.gif but can't wait to get it out again, take it for a spring clean and a service.
I think something's wrong with my cluch as i had some trouble starting it, and its a bitch to leave ticking over when it's still cold even with the choke it still cuts out and needs constant monitering untill the engine's warmed up.

Still haven't found out if this ypvs is de-ristricted ?? i found the wires at the back of the headlight stuck a wire from the back of that coming out and conected it to the tank ?? but i dont think it's made any differance, i must have feked it up. Will take a photo tomorrow(its too cold to go in the garage now brrrrr)

Booked in for a 8000 mile service on the weekend, getting a new cluch cable fitted and some new grips.

heres the picture of the wire i got coming out the back of the head light, the green and black wire is really thin thn i got this other wire and stuck them together, but i'm thinking its too thick, dose it really matter if the green/black wire goes to a thicker wire ?? confuse

ypvs wire

I really want to get new plastics for my bike, one reason is i don't link the red stickers on the current ones and secondly i dont like the rear fender on the dtx, want to get a nice after market one where i can fit a underneath brake light etc....

Anyone know any good links ?
