If you can do over 65 - 68 mph then yeah, it's been done :)

I think I might get Rethal bars for my DTRE at some point.

Ah righty I know theres a few things earth the wire going to check for that, the air box, and the reed valve. It does go over 70, so close to 75 but it ain't quite there yet.

I do really like the bars, much improved over the standard. Guess I just need to figure out what has and hasn't been done to my bike yet, and go from there. :)

Not sure if it came like that or what, I reckon the previous owner has just wrapped it in carbon fibre looks the part though, also helps it from getting really hot.

Always liked DT's mates have had them through the years, really like the looks of the new one over the older models though, tis why I bought an X lol. :)

Think I may have to replace the front section of the exhaust at some stage though.

Well, I gutted my standard pipe and the only thing I got out of it was a deeper exhaust note :( I think there's a restrictor in it somewhere that isn't mentioned on dtr125.net.

you probably have a washer just inside the exhaust port like mine, just wondering whether it would be better with it becoming an ex-washer :P

nah, there isn't one there oddly enough :/ I think it might be in one of the bends at the start of the exhaust judging by a weld I saw, but then again theres some baffle material there as well. I wish there was more info on the newer DT's :(

Don't really fancy ripping the exhaust apart lol did it once to derestrict a Derbi Senda R model, took friggin ages and I broke several drill bits trying to get the washer off was very heavily welded on lol. In the end I bought a full MK exhaust for it did 70mph when I was finished with it, was only a 50cc bike lol! Was alot of fun for what it was.

Reckon I'l just replace it with the DEP front section due to laziness lol, I found the wire under the speedo aswell it has been pulled out of the 4-pin block but doesn't seem to be earth to the frame so I'l be sorting that out today, also wanna get into the air box and take that snorkel out 75mph is the goal!

Y'know the most info I've been able to find on the net is from this website concerning the newer models, nice!

Update!

Snorkel is gone yet to get onto the wire, also was wondering would it be wise to remove the air filter or just leave it in there, don't reckon I'd benefit from removing it what do you guys think?

Defo leave it there, it'll kill the engine twice as fast removing it, all sorts would get in it.

Sweet looking bike, keep updating with info and pictures, i'm getting mine this week and would be a great help to learn how you did yours, I got a dep full system on mine but apart from that the dealer didn't know how else its been de-ristricted, although he did promise to try and find out from the previous owner...

Just bring me the feckin' bike !

RAAAAGH !

Haha I had to wait a week for mine aswell lol damn services.. The previous owner has done pretty much everything mentioned here I think, its got a DEP rear section wrapped in carbon fibre, I'l replace the stock front section at some point.

Few things I've checked over would be the 4pin connector under the speedo 4 wires in 3 wires out the 4th wire going to nowhere, the black and green wire take it out of the block and earth it to the frame to derestrict the YPVS. I've also removed the snorkel from ontop of the airbox which you can find under the seat just pops in and out easy to remove and replace.

Now on mine the speedo wire has been removed its seems, but its been taped up from what I can see, so I need to get that earthed to the frame just to be sure its been done right.

The bike will do 80mph according to its speedo but, the previous owner has installed a smaller digital speedo which looks to be for a push iron when the bike speedo reads 80mph the small speedo will read 73 so I'm not entirely sure which to trust :S.

I'l look into the speedo wire at the weekend I'm on late shifts all this week :(, I'm pretty sure its been done though as you can ride the powerband through the gears and it is fairly rapid, just wanna get it earthed properly to the frame.

I just wish it'd stop raining then I could ride the bike to work insted of going in the car!! lol don't fancy getting soaked!

Earting the wire is pretty simple, you just find a screw close by (which there are a load) then undo it a bit, then wrap the bare wire around it and tighten the screw up. Sorted

You've got it and you've not put any pics up lol c'mon.

Whats been done to the bike? I'm not sure if my wire has been earthed according to the dealer it has now I've found it buts its been cut out of the connecter and taped up. The powerband kicks in quite quickly though and you can ride it through the gears. Could stick a DEP on it if it hasn't got one already.

Could also remove the snorkel from the top of the air box need to remove the seat though, two allen bolts underneath, above the rear wheel just lifts off then the seat, the snorkel pops out really easy 5min jobby.

Going to look into the DEP front section, and I may possibly have a tinker with the YPVS itself forcing it on all the time, looks easy enough to do. Oh yea hit 80mph on the way home from work today w00t! Gets to 65/70 pretty easy. xD

They are indeed wicked fun, my Celica has barely touched tarmac in the past couple of weeks lol!
