Today when I was at college chaining my bike up I noticed one of the spokes on my front wheel is incredibly loose... how would I tighten it up? And why would it be loose in the first place?
Found out the front tyre only had 7psi in it the other day aswell. I need to check the bike over more often!
as for spokes... they loosen themselves. alot of forces on wheels. You need a spoke key, like the one in your toolkit that you get with the bike ;) tighten it up a little at a time. till it makes a nice ping. not a high pitched ping (check the other spokes to get an idea) dont crank it right up else you will take the wheel out of true..If the spoke is seized then you'll need to put some penetrating oil on it. DO NOT USE AN ADJUSTABLE SPANNER... you'll round the nipple else :)

Haha I noticed when the front was wobbling a bit! I thought I had a puncture at first but it's held up so far. It corners SO much better now aswell, it's like a different bike.
I haven't got any tools that came with the bike :( Theres a local bike place repairs crossers and stuff so I'll go there tomorrow and see if they've got the tool.
no tool kit next to the battery? You hardly ever get em with when you buy an older bike but it most of the time you'll get em with the the newer bikes.. had less owners!

Odd... I haven't looked around the battery area properly but when I took the panel off to the fit the exhaust a few weeks ago I never noticed anything! Plus, why would it be next to the battery when you need a screw driver to take the panel off? :P
Anyway, I got a spoke tool thingy today and it's tight again :> cheers
aha.... you see your key.. it acts like a flathead screwdriver to get the panel off to get to your toolkit ;)
Nooooo! Dont use your key because if your bolt rusts or you overtighten it with a screwdriver you might snap your key, I always use the steering lock key cause it has like a long handle on the key or sometimes i use a Coin.
dont need 2 keys for the newer dts.. locks must have been changed.. My keys for my 04 was like that too but I lost it and ended up getting the key cut on a different blank... Those gen keys are cool though.. double up as a screwdriver for the battery side panel..
