What sprocket to use?

My bike has been fitted with a 520 pitch chain so i need to upgrade the sprocket on my off road wheels to that.

Any idea what one i should go for? the sprocket om my SM wheels is a 43T but i'd imagine something a bit bigger than that for the off road.
So what are you lot using for off road riding?

My bike will top out at 100mph on the current gearing but i wont be going over 70mph on the off road wheels maybe a 46T would suit ?

Thanks
Dave. biggrin

well i have standard sprockets on mine, which i think is 16 and 45, i get 75 so if you want that kinda speed on yours, id try a few higher like 47, 48 then your will have bloody rocket acceleration haha

16 45 aint stardard on a dt125r.. 428, 16-57 on 04 onwards (might be earlier) and 15-55 on the 89...

renthal do 520 kits for the dt125r (try them for a bigger rear, or go for a -1 tooth on the front) also the dt125x rear hub is the same as the dt125r so renthal should do at bigger rear sprockets..

iirc 520 sprocket for a dt125r is like 13-45..

1 on the front is like like 3 on the back, if you put less on the front or more on the back you will have more bottom end(wheelie machine) if you go the other way eg more on front or less on the back you will get more top end and less pulling off

i like the 16 47 that is my preferance personally smile.gif
