FORK OIL LEAK (SEALS)

I have noticed that my front right fork has started leaking oil and i presume it needs a new seal.
I have looked on oemmotorparts.com at the breakdown of the forks and there seems to be a couple of seals that can be replaced.Am i just replacing the seal under the clip that i see when i look at my bike?
Am i best replacing both seals while im at it?
Also when im riding,if i remove both hands off the bars the bike wants to drop over to the right straight away.
As anybody experienced this?
When ive replaced the seals im thinking of putting the forks back in the yolks slightly to the left from where they are now.
Somebody please advise.

Was it the seal you see when you look at the top of the forks (the one under the clip)
also what do you mean by "Dont refit your forks incorrectly , fix the problem ".are you refering to the bike leaning?
If so i cant think of another reason why it should lean like this apart from the front wheel being slightly out of true with the back.

yeh thanks for that,
When i said moving them in the yolks i meant i was hoping they would turn slightly so the front wheel will move slightly to the left.
Also how do other people who have replaced fork seals get their bike high enough to slide the forks out of the yolks?

Ive taken my forks off at least 3000 times in the past few months . You need something to put under the frame , that's high enough to get both wheels off the ground about 1 foot . Then lean the bike back while sliding out forks . I just bought a £20 bike stand

i dont see how turning them would make a difference mate . the Stanctons spin seperate from the bottom part of the fork . If it's bolted on correctly to the wheel then it technically should be able to just slide into the fork , any way .

Try it all the same and see what happens man smile

Am i right in thinking that i dont have these, thats what the gators are for.
also mate was it easy getting the new seals in?what did you use to knock it right home.

there is 2 seals, 1 is a oil seal which stops it from leaking fork oil, the other which is on top is a dust seal which keeps the crap out smile.gif

this is the fork dust seal. it will be clearly visable on the top of fork leg if you have one

yours may only have a clip then a seal bellow but if you have a dust seal it is very noticable as it sits higher than the fork leg itself smile.gif

Thanks for all your replys,
I have ordered a pair from a local yammy dealer today,i think you are right
DTR125CRAZY about mine only having an oil seal as i can see id markings around the seal under the clip but i cant see no dust seal, but i will know for sure at weekend when i replace them.
Also i am going to increase the tube insert at the top of the leg to 150mm from
100mm as in my opinion the front suspension is very soft especially when braking hard with the front brake at lights etc.

Just an update.
Changed the fork seals at weekend and the dust seal is what i thought was the oil seal and the oil seal sits underneath it.
Also while i was at it i changed the tube insert and increased its length from 100mm to 150mm and it has made a world of difference. It doesnt dive as much when front braking and its a lot smoother on the road as i dont notice manholes and potholes as much.
Give it a try see what you think.
