Trouble is that the coating is so thin and cheap that the more you polish it the more its likely to rust I'm afraid.

Personally I'd give it a good clean and a wipe over with some solvent and then spray it with Wilko's BBQ paint.

edit: forget that you dont have a kick start! just leave it its all good smile.gif
remember to change the exhaust gasket for a better seal smile

yeah m8, buy that.

it goes just inside your dirty hole filling the lip, by the looks of it yours is still in there. Its the black ring you can see on the pic? if you give it poke it will fall out.

put the new one in its place, dont worry if it keeps falling out, when you attach the exhaust as you turn the studs on the exhaust flange it crushes the gasket and makes it wider sealing the exhaust ;)

Got the exhaust gasket in the post today....wink

Anyway i'm almost done cleaning the pipe now, using a load of differant things, started off with sand paper, but quickly got bored (i'm not getting any younger) so got the grinder out with a wire attachment, remember kids PPE ! (where goggles and gloves) i ripped a hole in the gloves i was using and got a peice of the steel wire imbeded into my face doh, went and got some wire wool which i found useless as i want to ride my bike some time this year, i also got some small brass wire brushes from my nan's shotgun cleaning kit which are great for getting into the little nooks and cranny's.
So i just stopped for a cup of tea and got the missuis to take a photo....
