Cost for lacing DT hubs into 17" rims.

Any idea on how much it would cost to lace my DT hubs into some nice (excel) 17" rims, my plan is to supermoto but good condition DTX parts are hard to come by.

I want the back to have 140 width tyres and the front to have 120 (just like the DTX)

Im just gathering ideas atm so nothing is for certain.

tyre £100+ pair
spokes £60 for x2 set (stainless are more.. around £80)
rims approx £300+ pair
labour £60 (£30 a wheel)

DTX conversion inc wheels with excel rims standard. £300-400max (would be mint) plus bonus of brembo front caliper, 300mm floating disc and stiffer/shorter forks...

nuf said..

The only advantage of not going down the X route would be that the rims you'd be buying would be aluminium not steel like the X ones are.

right thanks, like i said im just trying to get some ideas, but from what element said i reckon i will be best off just waiting for some DTX parts to turn up.

Id really like the bonus of having the brembo aswell, i guess its just a matter of waiting untill the right deal comes along now.

DTX wheels are alloy mate im sure.. my front is scuffed and no rust. im like 80% sure... prove me wrong lol

buy a good set and be done with.. If it means waiting then wait.. dont do a seiki and buy chatty wheels then spend more completely rebuilding them as its bloody expensive as seiki knows too well!

cheap set with ****ty tyres say £100, rebuild, £60, tyres £100.. already at 260 MIN... you could buy a mint set for that!

take it from the king of tight. it comes to those who wait ;)

Lol I dont suggest it trust me , I'm just saying it would be cheaper than buying new rims , spokes etc and lacing to his original hubs .

ahh yeh soz i was somewhere else for a moment (paypal holding £300 of my fckin money!!) but yeh you could buy dtx wheels and get em laced on dtr hubs (rear rim will fit as they are the same hub dtx and dtr but the front you'd have to check as the dtx hub is diff so might be diff amount of spokes) and it would be cheaper than getting new rims etc and getting them laced.. but if you gonna go through all the effort and money you might aswell convert to dtx and get the extras.. my 2p anyway :)
