Frame Number
Permalink

Hi
Just bought a 1989 DTR for road use
The bike hasn't been on the road for a number of years, but the frame number and engine number match the V5 that came with it.
I trust the guy I bought it from, but I dont know how many years it is since the bike was on the road.
I'm wanting to check the frame number is "right" & not DIY stamped to match a spare logbook.
Thing is, I've never seen any other frame number, to compare it to.
Could anyone please tell me how many digits in total, the approx size of the characters, depth of stamping/engraving, etc etc.
A photo of some part of someones number would be great, so I can compare to mine.
Yes, I should have done all this before I bought it, but I got carried away
Thanks
