i have a 2007 dtx
i have a leak from behind the front sprocket , its not 2 bad but getting worse . is the seal behind hard 2 change ? and do i need 2 drain all the oil out before i remove it ?

It's an easy one.
Remove sprocket and pull the old seal out (i usually drill a small hole into the seal then put a screw into it.Use grips and pull on the screw)

You can do it without removing the oil by tipping the bike onto it's side (doesn't have to be totally on it's side,just lie it against a wall) Although it's a good enough time to replace the oil anyway which won't do any harm...

not sure about the 230s but on the 125 ther is amettal sleive around the output shaft witch slided of witch will make removal easyer
