Removing speedo restriction (step by step)

Can anyone, who has done this before, explain to me how to do it?

I tried to remove the reed switch from the speedo and tuck it away from it, but it didn't help a thing - as a matter of fact, the limiter kicked in when I hit the 3rd gear, not allowing revs to go higher than 7000.

doesnt make sense to me. the reed switch is a speed limiter, it kicks in around 65mph I think. there will be some kind of magnetic attraction going on in the speedo. That said...when it's removed and tucked away the reed switch cannot operate. maybe your revs issue is something else?

It doesn't make sense to me either. But if the reed switch is in place, my bike will go about 80-85 KM/H which is about 60 MP/H I believe. Plus there is nothing wrong with the revs, when the limiter is in the speedo.

Damn, it's annoying. I'll try cutting it off completely tomorrow and reply what happened.

My bike does 75 mph with the speedo restriction in place, goes off the clock with the speedo restriction out and tucked away.

It sounds like maybe your PV is set 180 degrees out.

This restriction thing is all under the speedo clock right?. Just take out one wire, Green/black one ?? and do i have to earth it the frame or can i just tuck it away? at the moment ive not looked under that part and the power band cuts in at 6000RPM and keeps the same power on untill i hit about 8.5 and then there comes a little more power, But i wont take it to 10,000RPM. il get about 70 out of it. i know from one of my last ones i had 90 out of it. but the bike said to be doing near on 80 as my bro was in his car following me. My bike is a 51plate so im unsure about cutting any wires but will give it a looking over and see. Some pics would be nice just for people like me that need to see what sorta things we need to look for and understand clearer. Thanks for replys in advance.. also if i can work out how to up load pics il do so as im gonna get this looked at tomorrow.
