Does anybody else have play in their rear shocker.
When i remove the seat and lift the back wheel just off the floor and back down again i seem to have slight play in the shocker bottom bush.
Is this normal??
Any help cheers.

Mine has aswell.
Few of my other bikes do it aswell and they've all passed the mot like that so doesn't seem to be a big deal.

Cheers for that,
Have you noticed whether the bush can be moved (circular motion)about by hand fairly easily on yours, although i can on mine i cant feel any up and down movement.

mine passed mot for 3years like that. My 04 had a tiny bit of play back when I got it and I was worried but keep it lubed up and it wont fail. I know there isnt a grease nipple on the bearing that connects to the frame and this is the normal bit that wears cos people cant lube then unless they strip it.

finally I failed the last mot because the play was excessive.. I admit it was getting bad by that point but I didnt want to replace it unless I had to and at that point I had too. when I did I got a right shock... (excuse the pun) no seriously it was rotten and had started to wear a groove on the sleeves as the bearings where shot.. if its more than a few mm play.. then dont wory if its like 30mm then worry!

Cheers element,
I had my eye on the shock you were selling but now you mention it it is very slight and the MOT is the next thing for it so ill see how it goes.

They should always fail for that but rarely do - the handling will be sloppier than it could be though.

Mine was the same and you cant buy the bottom bush separately so I had some one machine me 2 nylon bushes for £20 beer money (not selling spare before anyone asks!). No my rear end is super tight as I replaced all the linkage bearings at the same time = $$££++
