you could probably fit a slightly wider one but youd have to check for clearance on the swing arm. something like a 145 or a 150.

Yeah thats what I am trying to find out mate if there are any other sizes which will fit as they seem to be cheaper in the pirelli range, the one I got on is like 90 quid brand new but if I can go cheaper I will as long as its pirelli of course due to having pirelli stickers on the bike and front wheel is one so wanna keep that make

I'd be happy if you could get a 160 on. bigger the better? Ive gotta get new tyre's soon anyway. i reckon a 160 might be pushing it though? i mean, my 150 is pretty tight anyhows.

Don't be fooled by this, I've seen people say in the past that a wider tyre has upset the geometry of the bike, and actually ended up having adverse effects on handling, I'm not saying this is neccessarily always the case, just something to bare in mind.

So to cut it all short then just stick with a 140? but then BK has a 150 on his, how does your bike handle etc etc mate?

well yeah, the 150 seems fine tbh. ive used 140's on a yzf-125 and they were just as good if im honest, but i reckon fro the dt125, you want a nice big 150. :D It does handle really well, and i can nearly get my knee down around corners (i just dont have the balls) but alot of that could just be sport demon's themself. no problems with them though, i wouldnt say they give any adverse effects.

Bumping thread again :)

I just fitted a 150/70/17 on mine...a pirelli diablo, what most people put on a drz-400s. I must say, even tho its not scrubbed in yet, it fells great! I know having new tyres makes the bike feel better anyway, but it feels better than when I last re-shoed! Deffo recommend putting 150's on. The one thing i will report back soon is how quickly they square off...cos thats one thing i wasnt very impressed with my previous tyres- Pirelli sport demons...

Sport Demons´s are rubbish... They only work properly in very hot weather and tarmac... They're too hard. And 150 it's too much tyre for dtr/dtx.

My bike fit's 110/60 in the front and 130/60 at the back...

mig you dont have dtx wheels do you? dtx wheels are 120/70/17 front and 140/70/17 back so a 150/70/17 tyre fits fine

Doesnt matter the wheels i have.. Mine are better than dtx but that's not the question. I have a 130 and i bet my rim is larger that your excell rim..

What i am saying is that 160 it's a very large tyre for dtr and the bike doesn't have enough power to handle a 160.. People who run with 160 tyres in the back are not smart because they spend more fuel and riding slowly.. And in terms of riding, in a dtr you can't take one 160 to the limit..

your first post was about 150 not 160 and your wheels are better then dtx wheels? dtx wheels yes your wheels look nicer but from when iv seen a Gpr 125 the wheels like skinnyer then my dtx wheels.

and use more fule wtf in the grand skeem of things if your rideing a 2 stroke you pritty much dont cear about fule if you did ud be on a crappy 4 stroke and do your ride around at top speed allday long? dident think so so rideing slighty slower (mabye half a mph?) does not matter iv gotten my knee down meany a times on my dt befor i put the jack up kit on and used 95% of my 140 tyre so a 150 would be better

allso why sm it your logic is your stupid for haveing a bigger tyre on your wheel so your not smart for sm your bike you should of kept your 21/28 inch wheels with sportsmen setup on them and you would be chiping

Dude, what measures are your wheels? mine are 17x3.25 front and 17x4.00 back... 150, 160 it's the same thing.. And what do you mean by fule? I'm not english i don't know all therms... And btw there are ways to ride 4 strokes and 2 strokes? Damn man u must be a genious! And as i was saying if you have a 130 tyre you'll have more grip that if you have a 150 or 160, because besides de 160 and 150 have more area they are also taller, and with 130 i have tyre in the whole space.. i'm pretty sure that you arent going to understand what i want to say but see it like this 160 -> more tyre, but it's more tall that a 130 tyre, if you are going to ride on a track you cant lay urself too much cause the tyre wont let you...

130 -> less tyre but the tyre spreads allong the rim, giving you grip at any point of the tyre..

Damn man ur dumb, i was only saying it was stupid because it is a waste of money! ur bike rides slower with a 160, it's more expensive then a 130, you'll waste more gas cause the tyre it heavier.. so many things. What's the question? and u have touched ur knee on the gronund with dt? i have to take a picture of my bike's rear passenger suports for the feet. all scratched out because of curving!

And other thing. Sm is not stupid but u cant compare the tyres of standart wheels with other kind of rims...

fule is petrol mate XD i understand what your are saying mate it just sounds wrong to me for some resone

the way i see it the wider the tyre the more or a curve the tyre has witch means you can lean the bike over more with a les wider tyre its going to be flater so more tyre on the road at any time what you said is correct but its mixed up as a taller tyre means you can lean the tyre over alot more so the bike goes lower

dunno if you get what i mean but hears a pic the flater the wheel the more that touges causeing more tyre to touch the floor causeing more drag so less speed and useing more petrol so a bigger tyre is better again

i had sportman set up befor and "scrached " my knee along the floor with that aswell and the dtx wheels with a wider tyre handle so much better in the corners if they dident why would anyone sm there bike and why does sports bikes have wide wheels and tyres
