hi, when i press the starter on my dtre 125 nothing happens at all, then several presses later the bike starts straight away, some times this can take about five minuites, any advice anyone, and thanks in advance

does it click, as most of the time its the relay if it does that.thats from my yamaha aerox, as do not hold me to it

Could also be a poor earth? Do any other electrics on your bike play up at all?

Had this problem with my RE back in the day lol, sometimes it would do what you say and sometime's the electrics just wouldn't work at all.

What i noticed was that if i messed with a clump of wires it would be intermittent.

It turned out to be a connection block under the tank had started to fry. The RED wire was getting too much power or something because it was causeing the side of the connection block to start melting. Not proper melting but just turning it black and burning through abit.

I snipped the wire from each end, soldered them together with abit of wire the same size and sinse then i haven't had any problems.

same here m8 if i use the cut off switch to turn my bike off then turn the switch back on. my electric start doesnt work for about 5 mins (strange)
