Front brake pad change HELP !

Ok i've got a 01 DTR with SM wheel set up, so the pads are a little different to the usually Enduro setup.

I've taken the caliper off and removed the old pads, but now i cant seem to get the new pads to sit into place.

They are the right pads but i was just wondering is there a technique to get them back into place?

Thanks

Was it the piston sticking too far out or did you try putting them in upside down?

Maybe you can help me with my other problem, my bike seems to be overheating rapidly and when i take the cap off after i let it cool down a little it hisses, is that normal? also the coolant is flowing because i removed the bleed screw and poured water through it and it passed through the hole.

Maybe a simple coolant change will cure it ? any suggestions?

I think coolant is supposed to be changed every 12 months, but it's easily forgotten, when was it last changed?

Also make sure you have the correct sparkplug as that can also cause overheating, it should be a BR8ES or BR9ES

Also what makes it seem that it's overheating? The temp gauge or have you felt the radiator or whatever?
Take the cap off and stick your finger in the radiator (from cold of course) and see if it gets hot straight away or if it's just the temp gauge f@cking up
Don't worry it will bubble abit and thats normal
