But after watching that video you put mate, OMG didnt realise the difference would be that much, pretty shocking really, And to think when you go into bike shops you find yourself arguing with mr mechanic cos you know copied gaskets are rubbish and dont last where as his like yeahhhhhhhhh there fine
tell me about it m8 i got the guy from yamabits on ebay tellin me, its my doin that the top end keeps goin...not his gaket kits ,, if its me thou how come the genuine ones perfect even still
an iv even givin my bike a serious ammount of abusive riding since
are you completly sure you got the right size piston for your cylinders bore an there was no remains of old piston or rings in the bottom end also an overbore may have nipped the piston on the pv worth checking before it blows another piston anyway
no there usually pretty good but not very knowledgable or helpful .. yeah i can see how they can blame the installer on that to get out of any returns by it not been done at a garage by the apparent pros .
had a new +1.50 mitaka piston go bad myself from them . but the replacement ones been a gem even then tho it wasnt a free replacement. had to buy it so it coulda been me coulda been them basically but i blame the piston
your best bet m8 for a start dont buy there gasket sets unless your going to to change gears like a granny at 2500 rpm they wont last have a look for tdr gaskets they fit the more substantial black gasket standard usually.
may aswell have a scoure for a 2nd hand running top end on the net iv bagged a few good ones in my time there a lifesaver when it all goes bad usually 30 mins an your back on the road

did you have any luck getting your money back from yambits ? ive just opened 2 cases against them for the piston which is now shagged and the gasket set
The problem is is that they'll always blame the installer before they blame the parts. Because its a very strange thing. On other bikes you can use almost what you like. But wheb it comes to the dt it needs to be genuine. Which is what probably confuses them.
I spoke to a few companies about rebuilding the top end and they use non genuine head gaskets. And i said about them being naff and they said first they'd heard about it. I was pretty sure i was right.
