Shorter front brake lever

Right I'm trying to fit brushguards but the standard lever is too long and the bars have been shortened so the lever fouls on the guard. Anyone know if there is a shorter brake lever that will bolt straight on e.g. from a YZ or something ? Dont really wanna get new bars either. Any ideas? Gary.

Cheers Toy, yeah that's my last resort. Don't think it'll pass MOT though, even with the guards on.

yr the balls are to stop your leavers impaling someone so with guards shold be ok if not this is what i would do dremal the ball out a bit so it will slot back onto the leavers then glue it on then rap the leavers in black electrical tape

Robin I'm just assuming the next time I take it for test I get an MOT nerd that says "well the book says blah blah blah". I'm sure most people have had one of them at least once ??

Anyway, I might try what Toysoldier suggested but without the tape.

This could look messy, I'm not the best at mods

I already have a lever without the ball end bit, just incase you don't wanna ruin a MOT-passable lever? End will have to be filed down though as it's quite rough, PM me if interested smile

Cheers Gincat. I'll give it a go with the Dremel first.

Steve I've already done the dremel thing - cut the ball off, cut 20mm off the lever, drilled the end of the lever and the ball, fitted a screw in the holes and araldited the two parts together. I'll let you know how i get on.
