which is the MOT testers manual, section 6.2 reads differently:---
pillion foot rests are not required on motor bicycles that only have a single seat. in addition some motor bicycles used on or after 14 June 1993, which are intended to carry a passenger may not be fitted with footrests but with handholds attached to the motor bicycle frame adjacent to, or part of the seat. Refer to manufacturers informationbeg owners hand book.
Interestingly, my son's DT just passed an MOT with no footrests fitted. Might pay to check first.
Richie, I'm sure if you're after some, loads of people on here will have a set they don't need, I whipped mine off straight away. As far as the MOT goes, mine passed a few weeks back without any pillion fotpegs... I suppose you could argue that the seat on a DT isn't a double seat, it's the same as a crosser seat and they're not designed for carrying passengers are they?

excellent anyone got some foot pegs i can have and trangle bracket they attach to cheers am going for my full bike test soon so i will have my other half on the back at some point so will come in handy
You can fail for not having pillion footrests? :/ haha wtf is that stupidity
Most street bikes are built to carry 2 people, therefore NOT having them makes it an MOT fail. Exception to the rule is people who ride small bikes like the DT usually on CBT's.
Kinda like classic cars are exempt form modern requirements
