Supersteve Needs You!!!!!! Need Help With My Loom :(
Permalink

Guys as you kno ive all most finished my bike and the next stage has got to be the hardest bit.

I enjoy wiring when i know what im doing, sound systems, neons and in car cameras - tvs but not knowing which cable does what on the loom is annoying me!!

Ive bought a new loom and fitted it as the bike didnt have anything on it when i bought it but now i need to know what each cable does!

I have wired up the ignition, kill switch, CDI, regulator but i am not sure what cables are for the indicators, headlight, tail light, both front and rear break (lights). I have bought a L/H switch but they dont fit the connections on the loom so im gonna have to chop and join them up.

Please if possible can you guys help me out with detailed pictures of these as this is the last part to be done to my bike and im dying to ride it now.

Im looking for people whos bike is similar year to mine - 2001

Maybe this helps? https://s675.photobucket.com/albums/vv118/hmmmnz2/yamaha/?action=view&current=dtr12597on.jpg

Not sure about the DTR's but there is another diagram here. Above link is 97 ON so i assume it is yours

Basically check the Components and numbers and then match them up with wire colours making sure wire goes to correct next location as in diagram. Looks difficult but once you look over it a few times you will understand it.

The front brake where it connects and where the clocks connect.
