Chassis: Yamaha DT125R

Engine: Kawasaki KX250

Modifications: USD forks from Husqvarna CR125

Motorcycle is stripped to almost minimum, although still feels a bit heavier than real 250 MXer.

Final drive is temporary, I'll buy a new set of sprockets and chain soon. There is 14 front and 42 reat at the moment and it is way too fast, but still going like hell and unexpected wheelies will happen.

I know there are some odd things on the pictures, like rear brake hose, but I just got it together and needed to try it out, the work on it will be continued...

As you can see I have remade some of the frame. I dont know if swinger needs widening because i had already widened it for 200cc china engine and now it needed some spacers between the engine and swingarm bushings. You have to use 520 chain, so you need new rear sprocket as well (WR200, old ~1989 YZ250 etc. sprocket will fit). Rear chain guide fasteners on the swingarm must be cut down and welded again, if you will use 45 or bigger sprocket. 45 tooth will hit the fastener, 42 does not, the edge is somewhere in between them two. 250 MX airbox wont fit in the subframe, so you have to make your own airbox or subframe.

To make it short, if you are confident cutting and welding the frame and have the ability to make things yourself and modify everything, there wont be anything that'll stop you. If you dont, you'll probably need some help with it.

I'm planning to get myself a real 250 mx frame with swingarm, I have some doubts about the original frame as I have modified it twice now.
My bike must have seen the best and the worst days, since it has it's fourth engine in it right now... :D

I think it will be rat style for now, the bike is built for off road riding only (motocross tracks and forests) and when tidied up it would soon be full of scratches and stuff again. As long as everything works properly, I'm happy. Since I'm not really a fan of painted plastics, and can't afford new ones atm, I let it be the way it is.

Exactly. :D There are still a list of things to do, it's just a 19 year old chassis which have been used a lot, I think most of you know what that usually means. wink Wheels and brakes sure need some work.
