hey chaps, finally got round to rebuilding and fitting the engine I bought off ebay, problem I now have with the electrics/cdi.

The problem is I have the cdi that sits on the back of the 2t oil tank with 8 wires and on the old engine the stator plate attached to the left hand flywheel cover.
On the rebuilt engine the stator sits behind the flywheel and only has 6 wires with no where to plug the coil pick up from my cdi.
Does the older cdi that sits next to the coil attached to the frame have only 6 wires? do I require this cdi to run my engine and if so anyone got one kicking around? smile.gif

When I rebuilt my loom I mapped it, as those diagrams in the workshop manuals can get a bit confusing, mines for an older bike, but doubt its a million miles from your loom. see if this help some.

You may need to copy and paste them to your comp, so they can be veiwed a bit larger.

I've saved the images though for future reference

Great work with the map NEV, do you have higher res copies? When i magnify it on my pc it just goes pixelated. I'm about to start work on my loom, so this would be well handy. Thanks :)

It depends on the motor that you have. There are two motors and two cdi's. If you have a dtr motor you'll need that cdi that's located by the motor oil tank. If the the engine you have it's dtre/dtx model, you'll need the cdi that's located under the seat. Post a photo of your cdi for me to see it.
