Hi there on my dt125 i have 2 wire that are linked together pig tail style connection and they start gettin very hot when the bike it running and start to melt when insulation tape is wraped round them, then the bike cuts out, i think it has too much power going threw the wires, changeing to thicker wires would help?? any gudience much thanked

What are the wires going to and from, have you changed anything recently?

Doesn't make much sense nothing on the Dt runs that much current to make anything that hot. As asked what wires are they?

if they arent soldered, that could be it

weak connections do make wires run hot and electrics dont like getting hot
