where do you buy a new head from then when u smash it in to a tree......

i really cant understand why people dont wear helmets you only get one head

one of the kids in are school learned the hard way, and he got dragged down the road under a lorry it wore  corner of his head away

brain dmage..dead ! !

the only injury he had whas his hed

needless to say if hed had a helmet on he would still be alive and his 2 kids would have a dad

any one riding with out a helmet on/off road is f*&KING BRAIN DEaD!

heres another one,

2 mates went riding off road, the leader fell off and follower hit him in the back of the head with the front corner of the fork and it cracked his scull & pierced top of his brain coma for 3 months, suffered brain damage and is now no more than a cabage in a wheel chair

1 last one

lad in one of the villages nearby went out for a quick blast up his lanes, had a bee or wasp hit him in the face, went to rub his eye, hit a bump and lost controll then hit one of them great big snad stone gate posts and broke his back

now has to wear nappys and get round in a wheel chair with carers changing his nappys which you can imagin is fu*ng horrible

all of the above because they didnt wear a helmet which you can buy from a carboot for a few quid

i have no sympathy for such people there there own worst enemy

now us working tax payers have to pay the price for these people been cared for and clasiming benefits for the4 rest of there lifes

not to mention all the pain and heartake they put there famlys thru

you may think its cool and looks good, but how willl u look when ur dead

so next time your off out just thing what iv said and it shows how easy it is

next time it could be U

hmmhelmets save my brain twice,

1 time in italy, on a 125 hire bike, the front wheel bearings where knackerd and the front tire was the shape off a "V" and the rear was "square" shape, , ... front wheel skidded out  about (45mph)and  i skinned both nees most of my left side and part of the engine casing got stuck in my ankle which wouldn't stop bleeding and got infected , shoundnt have been wearing shorts and t-shirt, mate was on the back and landed on me (he only got a scratch on 1 finger ILMAO) but the helmet save my head, and managed to walk away,

and then it gets worse lol, i got infected in the legs and swelled up, the focking hospitals were so busy i gave up and got a private doctor, the skin on my shin healed and then i got in the back off a 1955ish fiat 500 and when i got out the car , a sharp pierce of metal ripped off the 10" scab and yellow puss came out < which made some people eating thier  in the nearby cafe sick every where, the suns basicallly burned all the scuffs and when i went in the sea (which is very salty (OWWW) and the fish started ripping off the scabs which was nasty , so back to square one with the healing

but the skin grew back and can't see the scars to much,

soon as i got back to the UK i jumped straight back on my YZ,

with some limping LOL

but doesnt hurt to wear more than a helmet!!

LOL @ Toy's fail

But on the subject of helmets and stuff, I have a old motocross helmet that I use for the field just incase!
And I must say if it wasn't for my goggles then I would be blind by now, the amount of times the guy riding in front of me has rode past a bush and the little twig has come snapping back at full force is unbelievable
I once got hit on the cheek (inbetween the goggles and the helmet mouth guard) and it stung like a royal bitch!

Norfe I'm glad you typed all that out - saved me doing it. What a c0ck eh? Helmets etc are so cheap now so there's just no excuse - all my gear (helmet, goggles, boots, jacket, gloves, trousers and armour) stands me in about £100. You can get a BRAND NEW lid for £20 delivered FFS!!!
But still I suppose if someone wants to spend the rest of their life with their mum spoon feeding them and wiping their ar$e then carry on ....... ?????

yes mate well said....mine is about the same price which is **** all

makes me laff they can spend 600 on a bike but not 20 on a lid, i love it when thre scrubbers round my end go flying round the streets with no lids or shorts and vests on in the summer, im willing them to slide down the road cant stand it

Just reading on this thread and how important it is to use a helmet whilst rising your bike, I'm a big advocate of this, having seen many people both who I knew well, and some I didn't, have some nasty injuries that could have
been prevented had they been wearing helmets, obviously wearing any old helmet is better than nothing, but theres also some cheap helmets come on to the market, chinese imports mainly, that just are'nt up to the job of protecting your head in any event of an accident. Years ago when I was rallying we had to have an R.A.C approved helmet, with also the british kite mark, these were marked with stickers on the helmet, and if they werent on, you'd be scrutineered out, and therefore couldn't compete, nowadays the kite marks gone, and replaced with an E.U aproved sticker, which is what you look for when buying a helmet. and you can still buy helmets from about £20-£25 quid which are E.U aproved, personally I use the WULF MX as it has a visor built in to it, and its pretty much middle of the road when it comes to price, I think I paid about £60 new. Another thing with helmets that not too many people know is you're best to replace your helmet after about 4-5 years , due to the hardening of the polypropylene construction making your helmet brittle, and therefore unable to be of any use if given a hard impact, which it's meant to do. I always change mine after this time, cutting off the chin straps so that it can't get used again,by someone down the local recycling centre where it will more than likely end up, thinking they're getting a bargain at a £5 helmet in good condition from them.

Hmm, personally i go with price = quality but that's my opinion on it, i've had £30 helmets and can't fault them but the sizing isnt going to be perfect as its manufactured for a wider range of people and my new AGV lid fit's perfect and was only about £100 so thats how i'm seeing it personally

I reckon £100 is still middle of the road for price, £250&£300 helmets I'd say were top end of the market.

The funny thing is that all these helmets £50+ are all just for the design/brand name
I bought a £50 helmet brand new and it fairs better in the helmet safety scheme then the one's at £300!!

http://sharp.direct.gov.uk/

Check your helmet out and weep that you paid £100 a star and I only paid £10 a star wink

Tried swapping stator and give it a go again, worth a try mine kept chafing wires at magneto, could be a broke wire? mine had to wriggle loom from magneto then it started, then when running wriggled loom and it died again.
just a thought mind,
