Air in Brakes
Permalink

After removing my front wheel with the old man hes pulled the brake lever pushing the pistons out therefore i have pushed them back and replaced the pads to ebc sintered ones.

i then bleed the brakes correctly but there is still air in the system as brake feels spongy as anything ive bleed them about 6 times straight yet still  not working correctly. i have also been pumping it 3 times releasing the bleed nipple then pumping 3 times then holding it in while i close the bleed nipple.

is there something im doing wrong ?

and how do i get the bloody air out !

you are putting a clear hose on the nipple?, bleeding works alot better with a hose,

try just undoing the nipple and drain all the old stuff, and bleed through fresh fluid

Are you only slightly opening the nipple? as sometimes if its opened up too much it lets air in, defeating the object.

I use this set up for bleeding the brakes, the syringe creates a vaccuum so no air can get back in. Plus you can back bleed it too.

Could be possible there's air in the resevoir part. take the cap off there's a little plastic cap covering the hole with little holes for the brake fluid to go through, when i changed my brake lines loads of air got stuck in there i had to spend like an hour and a half just flicking the front brake lever to free up the air
