for one there expensiv and ull need top and bottom yoke youll need the wheel disk and front break caliper aswell as the spindle and spacers and as the speedo drive wont work youll need to replace the standard clocks for some vapours or koso's so you might aswell get a new headlight aswell so its a pritty big job your best bet would try and get a complete front end

try look on ebay for someone breaking like a cr/yz 125 or 250 or even like a wr250 wr450 and see how much they will sell the hole front end as ull need the lot then youll need to get a collor made up for the head stem

Hey you don't need to get a complete front of a bike....

For that forks all you need to get are the t's of the suspension because DTR ones are not large enough..

Then you just have yo addapt the axle of the DTR suspencion into YZ's t's..

That's all the work. But if the DTR front wheel axle doesn't fit in the new YZ suspencion you will have to change the DTR's front wheel bearings to the same size as the axle of YZ suspension.

If the forks don´t come with their axle you will have to make a new one to fit the suspension and still change the wheel's bearings to the same size as the axle :))

But i think YZ's axle is the same size as DTR one (20 mm), so on those forks you don't have to change those last things i said.

If you have any question ask me :)

i see wat ur sayin miguel but then urll still have to mod a bracket for the caliper to fit the yz forks as they mount completely different itll be so much easier and less time consuming to buy all of the front end. forks, yokes, wheel, caliper axle and spacers, then all u gotta do is mod the yokes to fit the dt yoke stem and then u can use standard dt steering bearings, (alot easier than trying to get hold of custom bearings, or modding the head stock) iv been there n done it

Nothing is done without work... Maybe that's why portuguese bikes look "so awsome" as u guys in the uk say...I don't know if you know what are the wheels of my bike.. But i can tell you that it wasn't easy to addapt them, but they are on their place!! Looks like you people are "afraid" of trying new things. I've never seen a dtr with wheels like mine! You guys always go for the easier way lol. But that's ok, im just kidding....

tottaly agree with you, thing is most people over here only have DT's whilst they're 17/18 years old and don't have much money, and then once they get some money instead of tuning they're DT they'd rather just upgrade to a faster bike(or even a car) it's just how it seems to be the way to go in this country.

like rudi says most of us are skint as fuc.k and everything cost so much, to even get a bike on the road ie insurance is just a piss take, and wen we do have somthing nice to look at like u boys over there, some little scumbag prick will steal it or vandalise it, so yea if i was fecking loaded id have super wicked racing magnesium wheels 170 bbk carbon fiber panels ect ect, but untill then ill keep on scratching around on ebay for parts from another bike thts either been stolen, abused, crashed or all of the above

then again if i was to become minted id put an ad on here sayin the first person to come to my house can have my bike free of charge and all of my spares, then ill be straight down to my local ktm dealer n go crazy lol

I'm also 18... The thing is that i will never sell my dtr... To upgrade you dont need to trade. I never upgrade without having money to upgrade, because selling bikes? no, they're part of my personal colection.. you can see it that way

Yes i have garage, and all the bikes that i have are standing there.. If i didnt have garage probably wouldnt have the bikes on the street, try to figure something out. Rent a garaje or something. At this moment i have 2 dtr's one of 2002 and the other 1996, a rm 250 (1995), a husqvarna smr 450 (2008), yz 125 (1999) and a cbr 600r (2004) that used to be from my dad. All the bikes i have have a story and if i can have them all i will. And my collection isnt complete.

this is it over hear the garages minimum are £50 a month and are a single garage not secure so within 2 weeks it will get broken into and all the bikes will be stolen i have a 2000 ts50x a 1992 ts50x my dt125 2002 a bandit 400 1993 a kaiser 125 2010 and a fazer 600 2003 sitting in my garden the 2 ts's and the dt are mine the bandit is soon to be mine when i fix it but i don't have a garage so there all under a crappy cover in my garden it rains 95% of the year so its never good weather to fix my bikes out side.

and because it rains 95% of the year i have to ride my bikes in the rain and i know if i have a really nice done up bike i wouldent want to ride it in the rain and i hate haveing bikes there that i cant use =[

Some Portuguese DT's look good and the rest look like crap, that same is said for over here.

People buy these bikes for different reasons. Not everyone cares about bikes that much, not everyone has the time/money/ patience etc. I prefer my car tbh

In therms of performance in this forum is rare to see a project like you see here.. dt's going 170km7h and ****.

In therms of looks, every dushbag with money can build up a dream bike.. But im talking about diferrent things, trying new stuff... new styles, ideas..

Lots of Portuguese members have come over and given great advice over the years, but with less or no arrogance. Dt's over 25 years old, nothings new or innovative anymore. Comparing countries and its inhabitants is pointless. Direct certain statements at noobs, not people who've been doing this for years and years.

As I said these topics have been covered to death and no info within this thread is new.

I'm a being arrogant? Dude, i love this, i love what i do, and im not making a bad critic.. at all!

I've just said that things are different. Here we do somethings and you there do other kind of things. I know that in the uk the bikes have to go inspection and have to follow some rules. Here we have nothing, all our bikes or most of them would be road illegal in there, and i can apreciate that because you can make a bike look pretty and still pass the inspection. Im not a member here a long time ago, so only now i could realize how things are.. with time..

But i also think that we all have different knowledges and that should be showed.

Sorry it was you way you said UK are afraid and always go for the easier option, it came off a bit arrogant but fair enough maybe it's just a mis-understanding.
