i think the ratios in the box itself are the same just the final drive is alot different , rear sprocket on a tzr is tiny compared to a dt one

just compared some graphs on both gearboxs with standard gearing

you would have to get a 520 conversion for the dt and use the only available 17/47 sprockets to get the same gearing as the tzr

on standard gearing with a tzr gearbox the dt would do 81 mph at 11000 rpm in 6th gear

nuff said aint it lol , the internal ratios are diffrent for sure ,  i would do it mate it makes sense although at the same tim i would look at having the ports and transfers played with to get the best out the whole package while youre in there

its the 4dl thats exactly the same

just has a little different bracing

ive put a tzr gearbox in mine and it fit, only thing different is the sprocket mount. so you need to get a tzr sprocket

had to take it apart because the bearings had too much retaining glue on lol

 Tuned or standard?

They're less BHP than the Aprilia's and a standard Aprilian will struggle at that feat.

Aprilia will be a faster racing machine than the TZR

tried getting the engine back together and found this

they are the gearbox shafts that go through to the clutch side, not the one that the sprocket fits onto

dtr shaft at the top, its around 3mm thicker.  means the tzr shaft has alot of play when its put through the bearing

the top one looks seriously worn lol, its like its concaved wear on the end off the shaft

was it the same size to start with?

measure it at the 1st gear end where the shaft starts

im using a dtr bearing

the dtr shaft is the thicker one and it fits, youve got it spot on norfe, the bearing sits on the thicker part

i started putting the engine together, then when i put the casing on there was play on that shaft

took it apart and compared the shaft to the dtr one and thats what i found

im swapping the dogs over, there only held with circlips. easier than swapping bearings and my mum will flip if i put the casing in the oven again
