Hey guys been awhile hope all is well

I have got another dt a 2001 model but the cdi is suspected to be fuuikeeed is a strange one i will try and explain my findings so far

I have been the the sytem and checked everything that makes a spark (as there aint no spark!) but i managed to get a spark when the ignition is off for some strange reason like there is something shorting the cdi out when the ignition is on! but have checked everything grrr i am a bike machanic so kno a fair bit, my conclution is the cdi is nacked which thats what the car machanic said when i brought it off him but thought id confirm for my self

I am either gonna bite the bullet and try and find a replacement or get the bloke i work with to send it off for testing, its a 3rm-20 can a 3rm-30 or any of the older ones fit?

Any ideas would be very greatful

Is nev still around as i think hes my neck of the woods?

Yes mate still here, sounds like you have a bit of a problem there, although I renovated and re-wrapped my loom, electrics aren't my strongpoint, if I've had any problems in the past that can't be sorted by trial and error I call an auto electrician I know, whos in Newton to come out and check any circuitry or stuff with his box of tricks, he could maybe test your CDI, charges about a tenner an hour, and will come out to you, I can let you have his number if you want.
In the meantime see if this circuit diagram, I mapped out, is of any help,
You may have to save them to desktop too see them larger but might help some
