Is there not some old dear/old boy on your street lives on their own and maybe has a garage going spare that you could bung a few quid a week to keep your bikes in Toy?

This day and age, with all the scum about, that prey on the old ones that live alone, would think twice scamming/robbing them,by seeing a motorbike or two outside a house/garage now and again, by thinking someone other than a fragile old person lives in the house.

Back up in Heanor my missuses uncle lived next door to Jamie Bestwick, he had all his BMX's in her uncles garage, and used to work on them in his garage most days, and gave her uncle a fair bit of sense of security too,

Just a thought

It is that easy lol. I moved out when I was 17 and still in college! Work like one or two nights and week and a sat or sun - that will give you like 150+ a week...then get a room in a shared/student house and bang. Your rents will dib you a bit of cash if you get real stuck cos they're saving by you not being there anyway!

Of course if you're parents need you living there for benefit/tax reasons then that's different. But if it's just down to you then dooooo ittt!

good points there but i was saying that personally i wouldnt be able to get my "Own gaff, own garden, own garage" simply because there's hardly any jobs down here which pay well and which work around college hours to pay for your own place with a workshop and garden lol, its better IMO that i stay at home for a bit, get the qualifications i need and save up a couple of years to get a deposit for my own place :) also gives me a bit more time to enjoy the free cooking, washing and cleaning ;)

lol im totally agaisnt it lol. My mates do that and it has got them nowhere really...they either cant get gfs cos theyre useless and live with mummy still or they have gfs that moan at them about it all the time lol. My mate did college and aprenticship and my other mate went uni for 4 years...and i still earn more ahaha...and i dont have 20k of debt lol. my sis went to oxford (Brookes) uni...did geography for 3 years then a masters then a like 2 year teaching course...now a proper teacher and 27 and only gets 23k... i earn 10k more and am only 22 baahahah.

But to be fair i do pay 1500 quid a month rent. that shlt hurts lol

im sure it is mate, thats why i personally wouldnt want to live in the city at a young age but if you have to for your job fair play to ya :) lol if your on about politics with 'torys for you', i vote labour!! lol only way im hoping to get a morgage is to be proper skint for a couple of years by putting the majority of the money ill earn towards a morgage so that i can get a place of my own, if that all fails get a flat with mates for a couple of years and work my way up to get my own

If you want a morgage in this day and age mat you need to get an overdraft on your bank account and then apply for a credit card (just make sure its payed off every month) i spend like 50 quid amonth on card then pay it back on time to get a good credit score so i can take out a mortgage.

My sister has just started it now at 21 after getting told she couldnt get a mortgage because she didnt have a credit score so i started the day i turned 18 evileye

and toy get rid of them get through your test and enjoy riding with no L plates!!

Got an apprentiship after leaving school, everyone took the piss because i was going in the motortrade, but there all going of to uni and they will struggle to get a job and will be to educated to work in a shop.

i know i took the smart idea, making money since i was 17 ( started a year later because i done a ****ty college course which was a waste of time) and i fooking love my work now, sometimes its a C*nt but you have problems in anyjob mostly just not getting to a stupid nut or bolt lol, but atleast i go home at the end of the day dont have to worry about studying for tests and i have money to do things i want to, now i take the piss out all my skint mates who are at uni or starting uni, at the end you have booksmart people who are in debt struggling to get a job, and have no streetsense lol

Well im in two minds over this...

I think that a degree has now become a very standard qualification...so many people have degrees/are going to uni. But that kinda just makes it more necessary...

There are also limitations to how far you can progress in a company without a degree and average earnings for people with and without degrees does kinda imply you should get one! However, it all depends on the person and what they want to do. I was never good at studying independently. I did well in class but never did any homework or coursework. In my design tech gcse i got A* for my practical and U for theory lol

I mean if youre not very good at studying....then why do it? This is what annoys me...do what youre good at! While we are on the subject...why do dyslexic people get extra exam time...? Theyre not good at reading/writing...so they get extra time in a reading/writing exam?? makes no sense! its like doing your driving test but telling the guy youre not very good at driving, then he gives you an easier test lol

So yeah...i dunno. I think if you have no idea what you want to do for a job then i think studying is a good idea otherwise youre quite likely to waste a lot of time doing jobs you dont want to as it seems norfe did, before you find a job you like.

I did a-levels in maths physics and philosophy...then everyone went to uni and i didnt want to....so went and did more a-levels lol...then same thing was gonna happen but i found out what i wanted to do and hoorah!

I think its good to have as many options as poss...in case you want to change your job later in life...or if you want to move to the states for example.

On the flip side though...I have friends, one of which did a levels, went to oxford, then did masters, and the a phd...and then worked at the uni for a bit. and now he cant get a job because he is focused on such a specific area and there isnt much work, and no one else will employ him cos he is over qualified...

Fu*k it, just do what you want and be happy! just dont resign yourself to a life of misery, we live in a capitalist society so youre going to get exploited no matter what...do a job of passion and it makes it less painfull! Dont plss your dreams away in a crappy office.

On this subject...in Lithuania at the moment, if you buy a house there you get full eu status...which is pretty sweet. But the best bit is you can buy a 6+ bedroom house with masses of land for about 25k. Whats say we all save up...then start a dt commune lol buy some cattle...grow your own veg etc...solar panels and wind turbines...then just ride dirtbikes all day long lol would never have to work as we would own the house/land and make all our own food and energy...im a brewer so i can make beer, we get somone to make petrol...or infact i can make ethanol from potatos which will run on 2-smokes! There, sorted...whos with me??....anyone? lole

i did a bit turd in school . 10yrs bulding luxury yatchs an powercruisers an loved it earned fat cash. wish id done more variations in work an not stuck to just one thing like a fool

would have been better for me to stay down there cos they dont really do yacths in the midlands. with that being my main an only qualification left me a bit stuffed up here, had to make my own luck best i can

Ended up with a house when my mrs scammed me into moving to stoke then chuffed off back to essex an left me with it.

Yes lads I know what you mean.. I wasted a year in college trying to cut it for a painter & decorator. Come end of course I did a test and had an hour to compleat it and failed the test. So they wanted me to stay on and do another year of basic skills but i'd had enough of going to college to learn stuff ud learn at school. Since then I've had a number of jobs (Loading containers with boxed foods) (Working in factorys) (A little DJ'in when I was 20 for a cupple or years) Moved to Leicester with GF and was out of work for 3 years and my nan passed away and left me some money so I bought my 3rd DT. Some lady crashed into the back of me and I got money back off insurance and used the money for my Karaoke equipment and started out one pub every weekend and now have one pub twice a weekend and then landed a job at Sports Direct. And to this day I have no GCSE's coz my school thought i wasnt good enough to take em. My school wanted and tried to send me to acting school but soon got fedup with that.

So now all n all Life has been good to me on the back end of 2011. I'm a top quality dj and i also enjoy my 3/4hours at sports direct in the mornings. I'l soon have been DJ'in for almost a Year come Paddys Day and the landlady said if i ever move pub or ever get a club i'm going with her lol.. So in a way Im very very happy with the work i do and this is commin from someone with not a A,B,C or D or ever an NVQ. Everyone loves music and i like mine loud and I like to sing as well so Karaoke/Disco is what i do for my main income.

If you want something in life (GO GET IT!)
Your heart will tell you where you belong because you'l find the work you love. It just may take a little longer to get there.

Just had a thought why i do what i do is coz music is something everyone can relate to and it brings people together.. Just like this site!! We are all here coz we have something being DT's that bring us together. Just think of that job that you know you can relate to other people with. Just think in a years time I could have an offer to go and work over seas as a DJ and the pay is ment to be really good out there. For me the list is endless.
