Rear Brake Problems
Permalink

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone can help me / give ideas on what may be my problem.

I am running a DT125 RE model and the REAR brake seems to be appalling!

It seems to have no effect on slowing the bike down at all.

It' seems to have always been shocking however recently I have noticed slight squeaking, locking of the rear wheel and just crap stopping distances when using the rear.

It's not the pads as they've been changed in the last 6 months.

I've changed and bled the brake fluid. No change.

I am still getting slight squeaking noises when a lot of pressure is applied!

Thanks in advance!

you dont get wd40 etc on the discs when cleaning do you? that will soak up into the pads and make them useless

I mean yeah it's always been ****e but now it's like non exsistent!

Might as well drag your feet along the floor. In fact that'll probably do more good!

Thats no joke! That's how bad it is!

To be fair, i've probably just got soap or alloy cleaner on the disc and pads. Front brake is mean though. Just the rear is annoying. In emergencies (happens quite often for me cause i never pay attention) I have kick it down 1 or 2 gears! Bad i know but better than crashing!
