wire to clutch lever

ok you guys know the electrical wire that goes into the clutch lever, think its so the bike wont start in gear without the clutch pulled in or something not sure tho.
will the bike work as normal without that wire? when i was trying to remove the old clutch lever and mount i was pulling it to unhook it but it snapped. can i just wrap it up with tape and forget about it or will i have to remove it or something?
any help great
Thanks, Jake

You may have to join wires together, as in a bridge, the sidestand one you need to so same if taking it off, better check though in wiring diagram.
