hi i have just got a 170 kit on my bike and it has been fully run in and i have just started to open it up and im starting to hear knocking noises. i know its the bottom end and i need to change it for an upgrade con rod does anyonne know were i can get 1 from thanks .
also i need to make it a tiny bit more quicker what bits can i buy to make it a few more horse power.
you have full dep? have taken off the snorkel and is it all jetted correctly? what about earthing the speedo wire? not much you can do otherwise apart from altering the gearing. go up a tooth or 2 on front sprocket.

Or save yaself a few bob and buy a big bike! no matter what you do it's not gunna be much faster! you can only really get it more responsive and smoother! but jakes basically covered all the mod's there!
ok chears for your comments and nathlaad its alright gettin a bigger bike if ur licence is clean but with 12 points its a slightly harder to insure tbh.
iv looked on ebay for a conrod but they are standerd im not sure if there are aftermarket conrods for the dtr and if there are do you know were i could get 1 form?
U DONT NEED AFTER MARKEt mate a oem or mitaka one will be fine, used in all mx engines and they produce way more power than a dt even with big bore lol
make sure u do the main bearings aswell at the same time, and may aswell do the gear box for an extra tenner or so
this one will be fine its oem so as good as owt ull buy, wiseco is just a name sodont bother, been there done that had the crunch to go with it lol
12 points? don't they take your license away if you have 12? :/
I think you're allowed more! But you've gotta prove that by them taking your licence away it would be an ''exceptional hardship''
But c'mon OP if you've got 12 points do you really need to be going any faster?
And don't anyone chime in saying that it's hard to get points on a DTR or whatever cause that's where I got mine!! I was just going under 50 in a 30 zone.. In the snow! Haha
im writing on behalf of a friend btw. yer he done a few things lol driving a car with no licence no insurance also on his dt got court doing 58 in a 30 then desides to try running a community officer over witch he sed was funny at the time haha and no l plate he wont ever learn
lol na hes an alright lad. i cant talk realy i got 15 point and that included a realy nice dt being taken away by the police after it was just rebuilt i was gutted. i took it for a test ride with no insurance and kinda done a wheely by accident on purpose and gavers see it and creeped up behind when i got back home so got done for no insurance and mot also dangerous driving (9 points achieved for that plus no moer dt) also got 6 points for 2 balled tyres on my car when i was in essex one night. went to court and they asked me a question about why i need my licence and i sed need it for work (driver) and they sed u can retake ur test on 1 condition that if i get 1 more point i loose it for a couple of years.
I`ve been banned serveral times for DD40`s mainly. I`ve been given alot of points over the years aswell too many than I want to remember. Speeding, failing to stop No Insurance lets just say a fair number of driving offences. I`m glad to say I have a clean licence now and intend to keep it that way. If I`m honest I`ve driven cars & bikes like a right nobba at times in the past. If you drive / ride that way it will only end in tears & it will hurt your pocket too. I`m back on a L plates now as I`ve only started driving again the last couple of months as the last time my ban was up which was about 7 years ago now so at the time I decided to give driving a miss for abit. Let my convictions get spent and start afresh with a complete new slate. I regret my foolish ways and I`m far from proud of my offences I will have to take extended driving test again now too. But to be honest you do learn alot from having to go with a school which instructs for extended driving tests. I just hope none of you lads ever end up with regrets how I have done in the past. So Wheeling at the lights & along the roads and speeding like a mad man in your built up areas may seem like abit of fun at the time, but its foolish & If you wanna put your life in danger thats all good. But what we have to remember there is innocent people out there too who could quite easily become a victim of stupidity & lets face it you always get caught in the end when it comes to flouting the law trust me on that one.

Don`t get me wrong we all have choices in the world I`m not trying to tell people how to ride/drive thats up to you. I`m saying if you do drive/ride that way nothing good will come of it in the end like what has happened to me & So if I can share my experiences so someone in DT125.com famo don`t end up in the kind of situations I have been in the past can only be a good thing. I think this forum is great. There is alot of valuable info on here & fellow members who are willing to give help & advice & share their Knowledge which is shweet. This place holds so much info for Dt Owners some great topics too. A great bunch of lads too. Glad to be part of the famo.

my brother was a taxi driver few year bk some off the drivers on his firm had 23 points but thay just claimed thay get more points than most peps coz thay spend more time in thare cars than most pep so where bound to get cought more and driveing is thare lively hood. never got band.
I am like a saint compared to my friends. I do enjoy blasting through town or in the country and I am one of those people who say 'Ah it'll be alright it won't happen to me'. Wrong. This forum sort of makes me wise up a bit. I haven't got any points on my license. And your right it IS going to catch up with me.
Yeah, i only really blast it on the dual carraigeways, or if i'm ever out at like 4am lol. my bike is still restricted i basically can't break the speed limit :D lmao
lol i'd rather keep my license clear mate thanks, interested in possibly being a bike courier or instructor maybe at some point, anything to get me out riding all day haha :P
i lost my car lisence and got it back by re taking the theory and the car test and i still have my licence i told the court that i had a job inerview for delivering car parts and i said if i dont get the job then ill just be annother bum that signs on and they took that into consideration and sed if i re do my test ect and on one condition if i get 1 more point then i will loose it for couple of years. iv had my licence over half a year now lol
