Right so 2 weeks ago i had this oil leak.. from when i riden all day from stafford to shrews noticed it. it only drips a few when i ride out long. I was tould it's nothing to worrie about just means you have to keep topping up & checking it. But... does any one think that it might be comming from where the rev cables ment to be (aint got a rev cable) Here;s a pic!
Everywhere else seems to be ok.. but i knew it was drripping down by the front spocket or on. Help would be well thankfull guys :D

Hhmm. Hard to say. My brother disconnected his tachometer as he considered the cog a 'restriction' lol and he never had any oil leaking. Problem is is that the oil wouldn't leak from there more like be pushed through. As it's on the top of the engine not on the bottom so would explain why oil would occur when you go out for long journeys. I wouldn't say it would be a real big issue if it was coming from there.

If it is coming from there then you could buy item 24 from this link.

http://www.yamahascooterspares.co.uk/spares/epc2.asp?PageiD=9&modelID=9028&m=YAMAHA+DT125RE+++2005+CRANKCASE&uID=339821073

It's basically the plug for the RE/X models so should fit. Plus oil won't get through there.

i dont have any cables in my offroader an that doesnt leak from there m8 even if its been out gettin thrashed for 3hrs.

not sure on where its coming from mate you checked all the basics

maybe a stupid one but are you sure the casing aint slightly overfilled in the first place ? cos it'dd probs need to escape from somewhere then if it was

check on all them casing screws or nuts being tight still too have a feel for dryness round the seals not any wet oily bits of gasket anywhere

hmmm thats a weird one I also have thet open with no cable and no leak.

the maybe over filled thought sounds like a good point and can do more damage than good drop the oil bolt at the bottom side drain it in to a clean dry 1 ltr bottle you should 3/4 fill it 750 ml I think is right anymore and oil will try get out anywhere .

or just unscrew that 10mm bolt and pull that item out see if there is any seals round it ect .
