I was in a garden/fish centre and they have some rubber pipe connections with jubilee clips either side, proper heavy duty thick stuff, 1 looked the same size as the 1 on my bike.

Might be worth checking you local "pond shop"

Pond pipe yes, but it's at least twice as thick as standard if not more.

Common problem, normally a sign of the engine running to hot

To run the engine cooler increase the jet size would be my advice. Best to check the spark plug to get an indication of how the engine is running!

cheers guys ill get on that later the spark plug colour was pretty much perfect browned off ..

you say it looks as though its overheating . well it did pretty much the other day i did the stoke egg run thousands of bikes cruising at about 6mph for a couple of hours i didnt actually overheat but my temp gauge did go up a fair bit more than usual ,i also saw a fair few peops who did overheat during it to

got the ol theory once again at 9 am with a bit of luck i pass the damned thing today or itll have to be 3rd time lucky lol. then my m8s just picked up an old 79 ts250 trials bike
so ill be sorting that out today for him had a little blast yesterday good for an old girl, what a wheelie machine an the engine sound sweet.

maybe i should look for a bigger carb an inlet all together cos im still using the standard flatside i went from 240 to 260 jet for the athena an still standard gutted front pipe
2t lube upped a bit from wen i was running the 125 aswell.

what jet size would you recommend fellaz?.

theory passed  first lesson booked for 9am tomorrow mornin

Congratulations on passing mate!

I'm not an expert on jetting. Usually it's trial and error adjusting the fuel air mixture. I believe after putting a 38mm carb on I then had to carve out the air box. Was running sweet with the 38mm carb but Oh my how it DRANK the fuel!

I mean seriously uneconomical!

thanks m8 well impressed with myself see how tomorrow goes an i may just book the intensive course get it over an done with.

38mm's is a bit of a jump from a 28mil init, i have noticed what you mean about uneconomical an im still on a 28mm  im covering about 25 to 30km less with the same fuel tank amount an drinkin my 2t so its definetly getting more than it was.

took a pic of the plug today for a more experienced eye than mine its a bit blacker than i thought to be honest ,  air screws out 1.75 turns needle clips  on the 4th from top..

any ideas to remedy this  is appreciated

gotta get this sorted quick now had my first lesson for the full test this morning an my bike seems to be hittin nearly half way up on the temp gauge on the slow riding bits.not liking it

when im moving its ok usually down at 3mm over the cold marker.

found a very detailed spark plug chart

http://motomalaya.net/blog/2011/08/10/spark-plug-colour-condition-for-carburetor-tuning-guide/

mine looks oil fouled to me
