alright all, i've got an odd problem which i cant seem to figgure out, but the water pipe that goes into the left intake into the top of the head (the flat intake, not one placed sideways) and for some reason when i leave my bike warming up it seems like a mass pressure of water builds up and it blows the pipe off and water pisses out everywhere, i've had the head off and there seems to be no blockages but it wont stop... any ideas? cheers now

have you got jubilee clips on the hoses or the oem clips?

mi mate had a jubilee clip on one of his and it was nakered and it felt like it was getting tight but dint and used to blow off

do u mean the coolant pipe or the pipe the heater pipe goes to the carb??

does the bike overheat/ get hot? it could be if the pumps not circulating the water it could just build up heat and blow.

over things to check are jubilee clip tightness and that your coolant isnt over filled

I'm using the original clips, they're brand new too, so they cant be the problem, and it's the pipe coming from the top of the carb to the left side of the head, and @ cream, no the bike doesnt overheat, the pipe just bursts off and then water pisses out, then it starts to overheat, but at that point I've cut the bike out. and if it is the pump, how'd I go about changing that? I've never had to change one before only thing I've done near one before is just have a look at it and then, I couldnt really tell how you'd get the fan looking thing out

easyist way to check the pump is workin is drain to coolant off and take off the waterpump cover and run the bike for a few seconds and see if its spinning the impellor? wont hurt it to run from cold a couple of seconds

the pipes to the carb can be removed its only a water circuit to warm up the carb stops it from icing

never had one fitted on any othe r bike  and was disconected on my last dtr n never made a difrence, just remove the banjo fittings and put bolts in to block the !

sorted

or if ur wanting to keep normal try some new jubilee clips on the hoses to secure them better

so, the two pipes to my carb can actually be totally removed and just block up the water intakes to the head? if so, I'm actually going to hunt you down and hug you for this simple fix, because I thought I was going to have to spend out for a new head, or even replace the water pump which just googling about looks to be too much hassle than what it's worth.

water pump is an easy fix 30 mins job

all it is that fails if owt is a plastic gear that the teeth sheer off!

yes just remove thepipes annd fittings and screw 2 bolts in to the holes in the head

take off number 22-25 and just put a bolt back in, may have to get difrent bolts or tap the holes out with an m10 thread as the banjo bolts will be fine thread i think pal
