%^$%&*% %^^%£& ^$%^$% tunts

realy sux will keep a eye out as I troll loads of adds and site and at some point they always make it on to some site for sale as field only bikes .
should maybe list some points that may stand out on parts or scratches on certain parts. even stupid things like color of tape used to patch up looms ect .

my self have a cheap set of letter/number stamps and I stamp postcode and pls contact tel no. on most parts on a bike and sometimes paint over to hide .

hope he is coverd with insurance .

all shout look close at pics and find points you could easy spot on other bikes on ebay ect

would also post reward offerd {dont state how much } on sites such as gumtree vivastreet preloved ect ect with a good pic of the bike.

theifs have no honor and will happly grass on some one out of spite

in theory a kill switch is a great idea and very simple to do

the wire to the coil alone could be cut and put a switch in line hide below the tank ?

or even the already fitted kill switch that gos to the stand or the one on the bars ? can be modified and or cut the wires and take to a hidden switch

a simple switch could be put in line on any wire that would stop the bike running . but some where low down in the loom as a theif will just unplug the egnition or cut streight throu the top of the loom to start .

cheap and simple switch cut a wire put inline easy

http://www.maplin.co.uk/dpdt-toggle-switch-2355

some great tips here http://www.lewkiw.com/html/theft1.html

find it crazy that he had no locks on with todays theifs that break in for keys to cars ?

Theres nothing more of a Gutter than wakeing up or returning to where you had left your pride & joy to discover its been stolen. I have just rode around 148 miles to brum as I`ve my neices wedding which is this Saturday as I didn`t like the idea of leaving my girl at mine for a week as my staffy wont be able to be left to help keep an eye on her as there is no-one to feed and look after him in my absence. I hope your mate gets her back hopefully intact too.

also most common drivers will not notice bikes like us bikers do so find local biker forums and sites and list there also . bikers on and ofroad will pay atention to other bikes be it on the road or green laneing

even if he dont get it back or want it back just to get ionfo on the scum that stole it can make you happy in a whole diff way ????

is there any of road track local or even not so local down there ? maybe worth a ride out in a group on the weekend or as soon as the sun comes back.

try to remember little things thst set it apart from other dt.s none standard/colord bolts maybe in some places .
or a scratch done on tank or plastics getting it in or out of garage

as we all know chances are its already had all its lights/clocks torn off maybe off road tyres fitted and stickers peeled off and replaced with cheap {monster engy} stickers

just try to think like a thief would, its an off road sort of bike so their likely to want to take it over some fields or a track like MDK said, or even some woods, they might have stashed it in some woods ect

just some places to check if you do want the bike back

Kill switch is a good idea in theory but.. I have in the past fully re-wired a bike without any such switch (to remove the battery cause it weighted a bomb!)
If thieves want to steal it, they will, by putting a mystery killswitch in the loom all they're gonna do is;
1. Keep it in their lockup for longer until either the problem is rectified (more $$$ for a working bike) (and the longer they have it hid away the sooner the feds will give up looking for it, that is if they even bother to look for it)
B. Try and rectify it and fail and sell it as a stolen non runner
Or strip it and sell it in parts

What do children do when they don't get their own way? They have a tantrum
When they can't get it to work there is a good chance they will just torch it, because to them it's disposable
But if you want your bike to come back to you as charred remains, fine by me

Better option would be to get a GPS tracker off eBay and connect that to your bike
Infact I'm sure I've seen someone make there own with a windows phone they had lieing around

EDIT: I never mentioned anything about not locking it up lol

not sure your thinking is right mate .

yeah in most cases if they realy want it they will get it.

but saying whats the point of fitting a kill switch or even a lock is kinda just giveing them a easy ride.

anything you can do to make it that little bit harder for them to take it improves your chances of getting it back or even not stolen at all.

a theif loves the fact if he can get in and out with out haveing to make any sound  puch your bike so far down the road  then ride it of to his storage ect.

now a kill switch  he gets it half way down your street turns on fuel cuts wires and oh fck it will not start ?  he then  maybe out in the open has to try hard to find out why it not start kicking it over searching for problems or even the switch.... all this extra time some one could spot them and call the police our even bang on wondow and shout hey what ya doing = theif runs like the wind dropping the bike.

what I am trying to say is bike theft is not all black and white not all theifs live local or come with a van and bolt cutters .

also the kill switch is great for just poping in to a shop ect

but you kinda said its pointless fitting a kill switch ? yeah they may torch it or just may dump it or even may push it miles home but all these actions would give a better chance of them being cought or spotted .
much better than getting it down the road and rideing it home with a big smile on their face . and then either rideing it around fields for months happy or selling it on for £400 as a field bike or parts .

two options either they do as you say and get nothing or you get your bike back with fire damage and insurance buy you a new one that you may be lucky to salvage parts of the burnt one to build back up ?

and yes the tracker is maybe a good idea and could be done on the cheap with even a old cheap apple device hidden {maybe in seat padding } and on constant charge to the battery via a 12v car charger . and used with this software

http://www.apple.com/iphone/built-in-apps/find-my-iphone.html
http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/find-my-iphone/id376101648?mt=8

not to bad pin points with in a good distance or street

well u all no i can simpafise with mine goin recently, its gutting, but no mater what u do like sed befor if some one wants it bad enuf they will take it and do what ever they need to, and there not daft while most are just scruffy chav chancers some work in grops and a well organised and good at what they do

iv heard the odd bit about one thats in our area thats been sed to be mine, and may have even seen it i think, but ow hear its stripped to fund other dtrs as theres about 10 scrubbers in the white city part of our town that all have the same bikes,

the thief always wins in the end, say for instance i turn up with a few mates to take it back and hand out beatings these peopl;e dont have no respect for normal life or people so next thing i no my work van gets trashed out side house or car house attaked, last grassgot petrol bommed thru letter box......and thats not what i want with my mrs and 2 babys in the house so, they win in the end coz they no

most people wont retaliate and they no it, if i was 5 years back they would have had some trouble on ther hands when i was yung and care free but its not worth risking prison for gbh or kidnap and torture now with my family

plus it gets u no where unless u kill them and get away with it

they get a beating, heal and then do it all again its what they do, just scum, should of been dround at birth

you look at familys around where u live kids with nappys fulla **** and snot allover there face walking the streets at daft oclock and see them grow up and just no how there gonna end up

if prison or the consiquences were harder there would be less crime, but the government is to bissy with complete bollox lke letting in assilum seekers and there 100 family members to take all uk jobs then they wonder wots up wi the uk

im sure theres people wh can hear what im saying

all in all best thing to do is just make sure your insured and make it as hard ass poss for them to get it in the 1st place

general rant over ha ha smile
