forgot my camera :(

but got alot done, my engine came with half a sc125 frame lol

the pistons crown was melted and the skirt was no where to be seen and the flywheel nut had to be cut off

the crank is rusted like a biatch

all the rest was good, the head 3MB is perfect

the stator and magneto was the same as the dtx and re

so im fitting my one from my bike and the electrics, stripped the whole engine down.

good news the gears and flywheel fit on the crank shaft (blaster) and the crank bearings and seals are the exact same size as the DTR125

measured the crank and it is the same size apart from the diametor, which the cases will need boring out,

all looks hopefulbiggrin, will take my camera next time, you got to see the piston and crank ...FOOOOKEEDDD

i am not building it at home because my tools arnt as good.

will be selling all the spares

Ill consider buying one then.

Chances are i cant be bothered to really do it.. Im a big dreamer, A small do-er, I have all this stuff i want to do. but i never bother.

Once i get a car and a drivers licence for a car. My dt is going to the garage and maybe into the Project topic on this forum.

I just wanna have all the time in the world and get the frame sandblasted and powder coated. And i can never be bothered to now since i need it for transport..

Nice project there.Thinking of doing the same with mine but at the end bought a 3et complete engine.
The flywheels have different timing between 125 and 200 so you have to machine it.Also the 200 has different crank gear and clutch basket gear with lowest ratio than the 125.
The crankshaft you bought is for dt or a blaster? How much it cost you and where from?

yeh i know about the timing. got some help on that one,

its a blaster crank, its slightly different to the dt200 crank

the crank driving gear will fitt it but the washer needs removing or a thinner one,

cranks from ebay £95

so the cases are at the engineering place to get bored out

the red line on the inlet pic are going to be opened up , but by hand and not cnc, the tranferports have been marked where to open them up bigger,

heads at the powdercoaters

the R/H side of the crank is 4.5mm shorter than the original, so the will be some modding to the crank gear/nut/washer to make it fit,

all coming togethersmile

Just had a skim read through the 1st and last page. Looks interesting. I'm not sure about 50bhp though. I had a dt200wr which is what a 3xp barrel comes from and standard they are 33bhp I believe. My rd350 puts out 59bhp so I would be very surprised if a 200 head on a 125 bottom end could put out 50bhp.

Looks like a very interesting project though so can't wait to see it all finished. I still havnt got you d to finishing my dt200wr project. Will start a thread for that too at some point.

Is that barrel nikisil plated then? how much does it cost to get it re played because it can't be re bored can it?

Andy

a few places can do it mate

they chemically strip the plating off then bore to size then replate

Ah cheers. When i get back to my dt200wr i'll see if it's needed. Hopefully not. I've got a genuine Yamaha piston NOS to go in when needed. How far away do you think you are from getting this on then TOWIYDTR?
