alright boys and girls...need to do a top end rebuild on the dt...could people tell me exactly what parts id need to purchase?...also are there any.vids about of one being done...would like to give it a crack myself...if not then ill have to get someone else to do it lol..definetly something worth learning though!!!...garages charge an arm and a leg!...cheers
Take it the gasket was to blame on Sunday then Dill? Right then you'll need a head gasket, get the genuine Yamaha one not pattern or you'll regret it in a few weeks, then get a full gasket set, you can use the pattern type for the other gaskets, or just get the gasket for the bottom of the barrell, but if you've bought a cheap full gasket set, you can keep them for back up incase you need to check the clutch, and need to renew the clutch case gasket or overhaul the water pump impeller seals, again you'll have the gasket for if and when you change the seals. Next you'll need the small end bearing, and a piston, the size of piston will depend on if you want to go standard size or need a rebore, and therefore will need a bigger piston, Mitaka pistons are pretty much benchmark for the piston, or you can go for Wiseco, Wossner etc, but you'll be forking out big bucks mate. You'll also need to check on the head as theres a big chance it may now be warped, alot of people use a straight edge to check it, but personally i get a sheet of glass, spread some cheap oil on to it, then place the head on to the glass, then from the underneath the glass if you look up at the face of the head it should be looking at a "full gasket" without any breaks in it, so to speak, if there is a break in where the head sits on the oil it means the head is warped, and needs skimming. For parts I'd give Matt at Damerells in Plymouth a Ring, for performance parts i.e race reed petals etc, give Dave a ring up in Bradford, ( http://www.roadanddirtperformancebikeparts.co.uk/ ) If you need any machining doing i.e Skimming, or re-bore, give Jason a ring at Cornish Motorcycles, again near you in Plymouth, I can deffo reccomend them, as they sorted my re-bore out for me. Hope you got back alright on Sunday, I could hear you on the main road from my house.

Aye Dill putting it all together should take best part of an afternoon mate, taking it steady, so as not to bugger owt up, I take it you've got the head off? if not take plenty of pics on your phone,(helps for when putting stuff back together) make a note of which water pipe/ wiring goes where, I usually use different colour cable ties for any tagging needs doing, order your parts you need,(maybe treat yersen to a new iridium plug, and stuff like anti-freeze/coolant, and maybe new jubilee clips for water pipes too) important thing is to check the head see if its warped any, do you have the manual for it? if not let me know with your email and I'll send you the manual.
I use this keyboard on my S2, it's amazing compared to stock, you'll find the unlock key in there too. Now for the sake of grammar install it quick! :D
Works fine on my galaxy S2. you need to unrar it obviously..and enable third party apps in settings. Then use astro or something to browse the the app installer. (astro is free but i have the full version if you want it as well)

Plus BMAD Bike Festival at Paignton starts Friday 4th May, so by my reckoning you've got 2 weeks to get yer bike back and up and running.
