what helmet camera

I know this isn`t a helmet camera I just wanted to add what I use for filming on bike
http://www.amazon.co.uk/UltimateAddons-Bicycle-Handlebar-Waterproof-Samsung/dp/B006VDAPA0/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1334833886&sr=1-3

I use it as my sat nav mainly your able to use all functions of the phone still camera touch screen etc what I did to compensate the attachment fitting difference was cut up some thick fuel line rubber so I`m able to attach it to my handlebar support bar or even the mirror stems. @ £30 quid aint the cheapest but saves me shelling out for a more expensive helmet camera, but it does the job nicely for when I want to do the odd film Greenlaning etc. I love the helmet cameras but I won`t use one everyday if I did I would shell out on a descent one.

Have a look at the ones they have on www.chinavasion.com they're from China obviously, but I'd reccomend them, having bought from them in the past, bit of a lottery if you get import taxed, at this end or not, but works out at about 10% ish

Bought this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251001512496?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

Literally got it in the post today, on charge now

Obviously not the best but read reviews and for the money you couldn't really fault it will let you know how I find it

Comes with several clip on sort of things, if you used goggles on an mx helmet it would easily go on to the strap otherwise I would find it hard to mount unless you put it on the bike.

Only other thing it's not waterproof but I bought it for a dash cam on a track car so I wasn't bothered.

Depends what your budget is really tbh, look at the videos on the one I linked surprisingly good.

Oh and it doesn't come with a micro SD card, but can get an 8gb one for £4 so no problem really

i personly think go pros have better video but the style of them they look so gay hanging of the side of the helmet the contours are much flatter and streamline

Get this one, can get an external mic and stick it inside the helmet.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Drift-HD-170-STEALTH-Helmet-Head-Action-Sports-Camera-/150647060582?pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_Video_Camcorders&hash=item231343b866

Check this guy's videos out. All with the same camera, next to zero wind noise.

Had a play around it seems alright especially for the cash, only problem I found is the audio will be absolutely **** in the wind. I am doing some proper recordings on the 12th of may so put them on youtube after if you haven't got one by then

Can you not stick a small patch of furry material over the mic area, may cut out the wind noise,  bit like one of those news outside broadcast boom mics have a furry cover over them, to stop wind noise, if ya get me?

Could do, sure there would be some way to improve it. Like I said for the money, can't really complain was going to take it mountain biking today but absolutely pissed it down + I forgot anyway lol

what ever you decide to buy always check for reviews or one being used on youtube ect some sound like the biz but give poor filming

the gopro has to be one of the best but not cheap

Got the footage, it aint great the worse thing is the actual lense in mine isn't set level so even though the camera is nice and even the footage comes up slightly wonky - this could just be broken though I doubt they make them all like this

Oh and the footage randomly cuts out sometimes, but you don't know until you try and stop it anyway

And the lights are crap so in the sunlight it was very difficult to tell if it was actually on or not let alone recording

https://s886.photobucket.com/albums/ac65/Kona_206/****roen%20Paxo/Mallory%20Park%2012-05-2012/?action=view&current=MalloryPark12-05-2012Session2.mp4

But for a tenner or whatever it was, finding it hard to fault it price wise but next time I would rather spent a bit / lot more and get one that is a lot better quality. My main gripe is that there is no screen or anything to let you know if the fitting is correct so you kind of just hope for the best until you can see the footage which I guess wouldn't be too bad if it was level and didn't tend to point upwards more than straight forward but it does.

Edit that's interesting - got a swear word in the actual url rofl, but the four stars (****) is tihs backwards

Hassle just to watch a video lol
