Anyone ever tried fitting this type of rear shock to the DT R?

I can't see where the bottle would fit, Eibachs are very good springs always had them fitted to cars but it would seem a bit much for a road 125

yeah i was thinking that, but yous never know, someone might have fitted one! i was looking tho, if i removed the airbox for a power filter, it might go in facing the rear wheel, but then no-one would see it, so it'd be pointless having. but most road bikes pretty much have this type of shock now

Years ago I enquired at Hagon mainly because it's bling. Apart from being £400 he said the didn't make one that would fit :(

damn them :( would love to get one of these to fit. i might buy an old frame and a real cheap shock with the damper can on and chop the frame reshape it and try to fit it and see how it goes

2 people have done the yz rear end conversions on here, if they used the yz shock it has the bottle on them, ive asked for some close up pics so we will see what they have done

i've had one mock fitted to size it up mate and it WILL fit BUT.... you would lose your battery box

plus you need to lose the side panel tab because the resevoir will foul it. the top shock mount needs the bar that the bolt goes through cutting (so the shock can be centralised) PLUS these style shocks have fatter springs which cause grief with the airbox hose confuse it also leaves a 400 mm gap under the bike...i'm 6' 2" and i can barely touch the ground on tip toes biggrin

well well well... guess what i'm getting for my DT now? :D
I'll find a work around with the battery problem, there's loads of space to move about/mod it, and as for the side panel i'll just chop it up and see how it goes. just gotta look out for a cheap shock to practice with now, cheers dude, made my day =D

lol errr.... no lol if you do want upside downers though, make sure you get the entire front end... its a ball ache trying to match up parts/years allsorts can be made to fit though yz/yzf/ktm/rx etc plenty of people on here done it,i think bradders is the expert biggrin the shock in that pick is off a kx. got a wr200 one now. paid 11 quid delivered for the kx one though biggrin linkages can be fiddley, but with a bit of bodgerneering....

actually, its probabley best to go with an entire rear end of a yz/yzf/wr... if the worst comes to the worst an engineer can MAKE it fit biggrin

it was meant to be a yz one,but when i cleaned it up its a kawasaki kayaba unit... linkage will need modding to fit as well.... i went for a wr200 shock in the end with a 1990 yz 250 linkage, but that was to fit a wr200 rear arm confusethe wr shock is couple of inches longer, sits nice and tall lol i'm 6'2" tall and i have to tip-toe on it biggrin should be spot on for you though...

one of these might be a better option though...

should fit the standard linkage a bit easier?
