Alright all, I'm highly tempted to invest in a Thermo Transfer/Graphic Printer, -if- I do, I'd wanna know how many of yous will want a full, totally custom (your design; I'll actually make some designs as well) graphic kit for your bike. To make my money back of this (+profit ofc...), I'll be charging a whole front to rear kit for around £50 (remember, it's your OWN custom design); unless you wanna be greedy and totally wrap your plastic in an awesome graphic, then it'll be a little more.
Examples of prices...:
something like this (standard kit) will cost around £50 with front mud guard and rear guard set inc.
and this: full kit, will cost a bit more, but depending on how much you want etc, the price will have to be arranged with you. but I'm thinking perhaps a maximum of £100 for a full body wrap.
so yeah, just gimmi a message, or write on here for who would want one, show me designs etc and i'll see what I can do.
also for extra added niceness most graphics will get signed with "www.dt125.co.uk" somewhere on it unless you state you dont want it, which I will charge an extra £2.50 for removal of it (*cough*) (just about noticable, in a bottom corner or something) just for that added... advertising?/awesomeness. :) cheers now.
Just wouldn't mind getting rid of the monster energy and replacing it with something else. This is £90. I would be happy to pay that cause that looks professional.
How good are you at graphics. How could you guarantee such perfection..
i did graphic design in college for 2 1/2 years, but never passed the course because I got into bikes alot and ended up breaking lots of bones and missing too much of the course, and know how to use everything from photoshop/dreamweaver/acrobat/flash/freehand/3d studio etc, i used to build graphic websites for friends, but they're pikeys and didnt pay for the websites so they got shut down and taken off
only thing i've got left is my website which i was working on in the time i was in college, but never got round to finish to show my use of flash etc.
but tbh, photoshop does pretty much everything for you these days, so it's not actually -that- hard to take an image, make it perfect, then print it onto the best quality film monies can buy.
just looking at the printers now, once i've got one, i'll obviously do a practice run and then upload my test results for yous to see, but if i can get enough custom from doing it, i could like start my own lil printing business on the side :d there's a massive competition out there, but they're expensive and i'd be a 'see you next tuesday' and undercut everyone.
+ i am going to start small tho first off... I'm going to invest about £150 in about an A4; 297 x 210 mm sized printer first, and see how that pans out, can get some nice biggish sized graphics on that and see how well it goes, if they sell well, and make enough funds i'll get a 2A0; 1682 x 1189 mm sized printer, which i'll be able to do full sized wraps onto that, but they cost alot..
ok, feck it, printer is orderd now i've bought a hp officejet 100 thermal printer... it says it's a thermal so pretty sure that'll do perfect for vinyl..
quality's are:
Print quality black (best) Up to 600 x 600 rendered dpi (when printing from a computer) Print quality color (best) Up to 4800 x 1200 optimized dpi color (when printing from a computer on selected HP photo papers and 1200 input dpi)
5x 600 x 600 sheets, it says it's got 5 - 7 year lifetime on it, so it must be pretty durable
so pretty high and nice flawless images.
so as soon as it's here test prints/graphics will be done asap and i'll give them a good old scouse stabbing (i'm not even ascouse, but oh well) and see how good it is, i'll look around as getting some other vinyl as well just to compare qualities.
and calum, I'll start off with something like yours, nice simple graphic set, which shouldnt be too hard to make... if it comes out all good, yous can have it for £40 ;)
That's wicked, but what could go to replace the Monster. I was a long way away from replacing the graphics so I haven't thought of what to replace them with. I know that D&D will do all this for you.
yeah, a "shopping list" like pro MX'ers do. I'll have a play about with them over the next few days, and then show ya'z a mopup of them, hopefully printer will be here then too so i can print them out too an stick 'em to my plastics to test them out.
you only going to be doing them for dt panels? because im going to get those ktm sxf rear panels would be good if could get a graphics set to match the whole bike if u get what i mean?
if you give me the dimensions of your plastics, i should be able to do any plastic, i'm going to be getting the ktm sx kit as well so i'll have templates of them for you, just need your design
plus i dont think stock stickers sell that well, people these days prefer custom, if they could get custom for the same price as stock, them custom would win over sales anyday. and thats what i wanna do. bring custom graphics down in price and fill my pockets with pennies. / i have a baby on the way so they're feeling empty right now x)
id be well up for buying some off you if they were good quality for the RE, especially for that price and being custom, let me know how you get on bud :)
Thanks, well ill hold back for the minute as i was planning to order some new stickers from yammy themselves but this is defiantly worth waiting for if it goes to plan :)
be interested in these aswell mines lookin a bit tired now in places , i was just thinkin of forkin out a 100 notes for one off those d&d grapix kits an saw this post
I would defo be up for having some done but like NORFE said it has to be super sticky adhesive 3mil 3m sheeting and of decent quality decals. If they was of a high standard I would proberly require more than one set as I have a minta spare set of plastics & tank should I fancy a change now and again cos thats how I roll lol.
Wheel rim vinyls might be an idea to experiment with, the ones I bought looked good on Ebay, but are starting to peel slightly,I do have a couple spare, so if you fancy scanning/copying those I can send you them, obviously goes without saying I get to try the full set of `16 when you've done them ey?
