So, Ive got the bike, now I need a helmet (& gloves) got some s/h sidi boots coming from ebay:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251071828510?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

So I fancy a black/ red motocross style helmet and goggles. Dont want to spend a fortune but at the same time I want it to be able to save my life if the time ever comes!

These looks cool, any thoughts?

That spada one is nice. I like the idea of a motorcross style but with a visor, cheers for the linkage!

Anyone know of any other mx style with built in visor models?

My snowboard helmet is a 59-61 Large (and is a tiny bit too big, but means I can get my balaclava under it when its proper cold), so I think If I go for large (59-60) I should be ok ordering online, fingers crossed!

Problem is with buying a helmet online is that nearly every helmet is different in size to another of the same size, for example a fox helmet which is a small may perfectly fit you but then you try to buy a wulf helmet thinking your a small but you actually need a medium.

I had this problem when buying my helmet, i tried on a medium in the local dealers, ordered a medium of a different helmet thinking it would fit, but later had to exchange it for a small cus it was way too big

Its alrite tho if you can exchange it for another size, but its the hassle and time it takes to get the right helmet which is the problem :)

if you can, look in your local shops for the helmet/s your interested in, find the size you need and get it online for cheaper, SORTED, then you know the helmet coming in the post will defiantly fit you :)

agree with reef aslong as it fits and looks good then you cant go.wrong, all helmets in UK go through the same tests so more your paying for the label more than anything!

i bought mine off ghostbikes.co.uk , pretty sure i paid a little bit extra so that if its the wrong size, they collect and exchange for another size, pretty useful and they are not bad for prices

Can't go wrong with Wulfsport mate i have the prima 2 myself in blue. Pretty good for £50 but bear in mind when the visor is close it will get no airflow and fog up so you have to have it open a tiny crack to stop that.

Also the bottom of the visor distorts your vision so i pull the helmet as far down as possible to see through the top of it or keep it open all the time

the icon variant is another mx style with a visor, think its abit pricier tho, different brand helmets with all have slightly different sizes, best to go to a bike shop and try some on

Those Spada ones do look good Norfe, this is another type with internal visor Gernster, my Wulfsport has one, you get in White, Black, Red, and Blue, bit cheaper than the Spadas at around 50 - 60 quid mark.

Maybe mate, maybe, I really would look like Darth vader then! to be honest with the bike purchase, the insurance (£180 TPFT, so not bad) and the helmet cost, boots plus the CBT ive had a dear month!!! It might have to wait for a bit

Here you go. Paid list price, but the guy in the shop was cool and like you said, better to try on and see these things in the flesh.

looks the nuts that does mate, tinted visor would finish it off beautifully! maybe just a smoke tint not the full blow black tint!
