Bought. Common spelling mistake. Brought means to bring something

There we go learn something new everyday.

Uh well to be fair new rings would probably suffice mate.

Obviously worth buying new piston with small end bearing and new rings. Wouldn't need a company to sort that out. Could do that yourself. Boring out seems to create more problems than it solves. People may disagree with me here, but if you do decide to bore it out. You need to bore out the gasket. You also need to bore out the YPVS system as people have had the piston hit the YPVS and shatter the rings, shattering the piston and wrecking the bottom end.

My DT got nicked and ran witout OIL for about 50 miles. A little bit of top end rattle and tht was it.

Changed the Piston and rings over and it still rides spot on.

Plus by the sounds of things you've got a DTX? They're restricted too fook. So you really haven't done too much damage to the cylinder.

Can you hear the piston slapping? It's a little tinny sound you'll hear when the piston reaches the top of its stroke?

Should be quite obvious?

No?

Then it's probably fine.

My advice:

Get yourself a mitaka piston set. Around £40 off ebay. Standard size.

Get a GENUINE headgasket. HAS TO BE GENUINE! Absolute must!

And inspect the barrel yourself.

Make sure there's no scoring. If no then yeah should be all good to put the new piston and rings in there. And if it's a tight fit then no. Doesn't need reboring

Should be able to see like a cross hatch on the cylinder. that's suppose to be there.

Yeah.

I wouldn't bother about the rebore. PERSONALLY. And when I do It'll be a rebore then replating up. Just saves the hassle of modding the YPVS.

I'm not expert though so lets see what other people have got to say.

I'd say if you want reliability then avoid wossner piston kit mate.

they're for competition use.

Yeah It would mate. Like I said our models are restricted too fook! Good means less maintenance. Bad less power. But I've got my Aprilia for speed. DTRE for work and commuting

No point boring the cylinder out unless it's got bad scoring simple as that.

I havn't played COD since COD4 lmao, loved that game. Since moving to the PC a few years back i havn't really played any FPS' apart from things like CSS etc.

+1 on the Makita pstion aswell, can't go wrong with 'em.

You we're on my team. Obviously you haven't played COD1

Bit more realistic. You can't no scope. Also it's like two shots and you're dead. Lol. Much better.

When my bike is at low rpms, there's a weird knock but tickover mid range and HIGH. It's fine, I was thinking about doing a top end my self in the new year but cos of that knock I'm paranoid I'm gonna have to get it rebored and don't really have the funds of I'm honest :(

Knock?

Going to have to be a little bit more specific.

If it's a rattle then it's probably piston slap.

if it's a knock then it could be something more serious.

Erm, kinda hard to explain, it's a weird noise sounds like the gases are rebounding from the expansion chamber but only does it when I've been riding and ill come to some lights and go down a gear or 2 and touch the throttle and it will make the noise, it runs fine and don't have any problems just thought in new year it'll be worth doing for summer cos ill be using it a lot so rings and piston will be wore in then

Oh forgot to add, it doesn't do it in neutral I've tried to get it to do it and it doesn't

Just read through that and realised my explanation was ****e, sorry!
I don't know if it's from the engine or expansion chamber as I can only hear it when riding doesn't do it in neutral
