so i was getting a little jaffed with my off road dt. it has a bare minimum loom which means no working powervalve its a pre 97 model engine and cdi so JOY OH JOY no bleedin looms to be had read satellite ones post bout 4dl looms being pretty much the same, and being tight thought i'd give it a go...found one for cheap money http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251106823800?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 striped it down (forgot tzrs have a totally different layout ) moved the battery connections and relays from the arse to the airbox, and worked out what was what. apart from the connector blocks not fitting (big deal,it'll be getting jetski standard connectors, nice and waterproof) it looks like it'll work a treat got a few connectors i dont understand though...anyone know what the clutch switch is about?

Think thats a blue wire for the clutch switch, but not sure if you leave it isolated or go to earth with it, bit like bridging the sidestand switch if not using one. and as for the other old loom not having the powervalve servo wires, you just need a brown(come off the brown brake switch wire) and a black (earth) from the loom somewhere, the other wire, the Black/Yellow one comes from the CDI.

well i've had a trial fit of the loom before i wrap it up again

it all fits ok,few things needed moving to suit my tastes (relays and fuses hid near the airbox away from dirt/water) it also runs BUT the bloody power valve doesn't work still? tried 2 other motors on it (one is brand new) and still nothing? any ideas anyone? got me stumped confuse

Try running a black wire from the frame (Earth) and 'borrow the Brown wire either from the horn or the rear brake switch, it's possible there could be a break in the circuit, if still nowt, then its the Black /Yellow from CDI, try a tester wire/ bulb to it see if theres power coming from it with the ignition on, while giving it some revs.

still no joy?!?!? tried 3 different cdi's (one's brand new out the box) and 3 different powervalve motors (one of them also brand new out the box) and nada disbelief got a wallop off the cdi's though (one way to test there giving power lol) bike has no ignition or battery though? suppose its battery and ignition next and see whats what with that? cant see what i'm missing, its got me stumped....

Bang a battery on it then try the horn , then the rear/front brake, if yer getting those, then ignitions a good 'un. as the Brown is switcheable feed, off the ignition, and in theory it should then give you the cleaning cycle on the powervalve.
