hi can someone please tell me weather i need to raise or lower  the clip on my main jet needle to make the mixture weaker. as far as i know it should be in position 4 but is that 4 from the top or bottom?smile

No probs but personally I'd leave the needle where it is and just turn the mixture screw a quarter turn to the left, clean your plug, ride a good 4-5 miles then do a plug chop to see what the plug looks like then, if still black/oily/sooty try adjusting it a quarter of a turn to the left again, repeat plug chop. also taking the snorkel off from under the seat can lean off a tad too, but not a deal. the mixture screw should start off 1 1/4 turns out from fully in btw.
